12oz bottle poured into HF stemmed glass. Thanks Adam for this one!

A- Pours a translucent golden color with a half finger of white frothy head that has just slightly below average retention and recedes to a flat top, slight lacing that mostly recedes back into the glass, slightly above average carbonation that has nice consistency.

S- Fresh lemons, a bit orange peel, muscat grapes, apples, faint tartness. Well balanced with a fairly average aroma strength.

T- Lemons that lend an initial tartness that is much more pronounced in taste, muscat grapes, a hint of orange zest, finishes with slight hay and a subtle lingering presence of hay and orange zest. Not the most flavorful berliner I've had, but a nice subtle tartness with decent subtle complexities.

M- Light, very drinkable, nice carbonation, pretty much exactly what a traditional berliner should feel like.

O- I wouldn't say this is the most flavorful or tart berliner weiss that I've had but it was a very good traditional interpretation of the style that was quite sessionable with subtle complexities. I probably wouldn't say this is my favorite berliner, but it was well balanced and definitely a treat to drink. I'd definitely say this is worth trying, but not necessarily a beer that should be extremely sought after.

Thanks c64person for the 4-pack! I love this stuff. 3rd bottle as of time of review. Poured out of a 12oz bottle into a flute glass.

Pours a pale yellow straw color with tons of carbonation - almost resembling good quality sparking wine - with a bit of haze and a greenish tint around the edges (no doubt from the Riesling grapes). There's a frothy, foamy like white head that rises about 3 fingers high and clings to the glass in a very appealing manner and suspends itself even as the head descends. Lacing is great on this. Really festive and informal looking. Simply awesome as far as the style goes.

The nose is immediately awash with all kinds of mild tart aromas, ranging from lemon peel, fresh squeezed grapefruit, dry Riesling grape must, and haystack, slightly funky farmhouse flavors. Has a sour pineapple flavor at the end, too, which is interesting. Some crisp grain abounds at the end, as well as a brief sweetness. Tart overall, but still very refreshing.

The flavor follows a similar tart profile, as well as some funkiness and yeasty complexity that finishes everything out. At first, you get obvious notes of citrus (especially lime), then grapefruit and soured tropical notes at the end. The Riesling grapes are a bit more subtle here, feeling slightly bright but definitely dry. Slightly acidic and mineral-y at first, with notes of light limestone. The finish is definitely a little bit more moist and slightly funky, with a barnyard aroma of straw and wet soil. The carbonation is excellent all around, although I do like it when it's a little bit more effervescent at first. Drinks stupidly well - the alcohol is low enough to make it quaffable, but the tart flavors and rustic complexity are enough to make it a sipper.

I really love this thing - tart, crisp, funky, and filled with an array of flavors. The low alcohol and firm carbonation that lasts throughout makes this a wonderful session beer unlike any I've ever had. I want these every summer for the rest of my life, if possible. Truly great stuff - can't wait to try more from New Glarus.

Serving: 12 oz bottle poued into a tulip glass.

This was a fantastic example of a Berliner Weissbier. Poured a lovely pale golden with decent lacing. It was light, crisp, a hint of sour and dare I say -- sessionable. Can’t imagine what I would change about it.
