This awaited pilsner fills my glass with a strong golden liquid and outstanding clarity to the point of allowing fingerprints to be read perfectly through the glass. Two fingers of bone white head continue to dress up the body of this beer. The head eventually falls to a solid collar and moderate skimming. A good amount of unpredictable lacing is left after each drink, staying sticky throughout.
My nose is immediately greeted by handfuls of drying grass. The grass falls back and allows the other aromas to shine through. The hop profile not only shows the grassiness, which is most prominent, but brings along a nice subtle floral character as well. I'm really impressed with the maltiness in the nose. Freshly husked grains add a slight sweetness that brings out a touch of honey and the oak vats produce a very subtle and complimenting dry woodiness. Each swirl of the glass brings about a squeeze of lemon juice that brings it all out and makes my mouth water. This is how a pilsner should smell.
I'm happy to say the nose led me in the right direction. This beer has all of the wonderful qualities the nose suggested. Grassy upfront that eventually falls back but never fully leaves and is always noticeable. The mild honey like sweetness from the superbly clean grains lay down a great foundation for the style and the lemon tends to come across on the tongue slightly more then it did in the nose. The finish brings the drying grassiness and dry woodiness to the front. Each separate flavor profile in this beer is crisp, clean and expressive. Bohemian Lager is a delicious pilsner.
The carbonation is lively and snaps across the tongue pushing the medium body through at a fast pace which makes the drinking that much easier. The grassy hoppiness sneaks up on me and leaves my tongue battered and beaten halfway through the glass that the Sahara-like dryness only enhances. The body is lively, quick moving, slightly numbing and fits the beer exceptionally well.
The drinkability is off the charts. This is a beer I could drink all day long on these warm days like today. I struggled keeping this beer in my glass long enough to write a review. The dryness is parching to the point of needing another sip right after the last.
I am thoroughly impressed by New Glarus's newest creation. I imagine this is what the old school Pilsners tasted when fresh from the brewery in Plzen. This is a delicious beer; get it while it's fresh.

A- Short lived white head with decent retention.
S- Slightly skunked smell.
T- Actuallly not too bad considering age/style. Slight sweetness, dry aftertaste.
M- Thin mouthfeel, low carbonation.
D/O- Alright. Not bad, definitely beyond its ageability. If you still have any I'd recommend cracking them soon before they become undrinkable.

Pours a bright crystal clear golden honey with an exuberant white head. Hop smell is spicy and earthy, lemon and grassy, over a strong malt backbone. Taste is grainy; cereal, biscuit and pale malt flavors dominate, hint of red grapes, mild bitterness with herbal undertones, and slight copper flavor kicks in on the finish. Dry finish, for a lager, crisp and refreshing, highly drinkable, very good.

2009 rate.
12oz bottle, thanks Ryan! Pours a nice clear honey gold with a small ,creamy white head. Slightly sour nose with very light fruits, grains, and bittering hops. Flavor is a touch blank. A decent grain and hop presence. A slight sour twang announces itself like a berlinner weisse. Not sure what they were really going for here. A decent offering, certainly drinkable, just nothing to really drool over.

12oz bottle poured into pilsner glass - thanks to GraniteSkunk
Pours golden orange with a very slight haze to it, plenty of carbonation, decent white head retains pretty well with some patches of lacing on the glass.
Toasted biscuity malt, lemon grass, light fruit sweetness and a dash of citrusy hops in the nose.
Bitter grassy hops up front with touches of lemony citrus. Soft biscuit malt, light breadiness and some sweet edges. Faint traces of caramel and fruit sweetness. Finishes with some bitter dry hoppiness and citrus.
Lighter medium body, higher carbonation, refreshing on the palate, slightly dry. Solid flavor, easy to drink, smooth overall.
