Presentation: 12oz brown pop top; classic NG label, minimalist yet classy, with a nice paragraph about the beer.
Appearance: Slightly hazy dark gold beer with high levels of beautiful, small-bubbled carbonation and a thick creamy white cap with good retention.
Smell: Beautiful fresh banana and spice aromas; very Bavarian hefe. Additionally, however, there are spicy, herbaceous hops as well. This is really interesting; it's not your typical hefe by any stretch of the imagination. I'm definitely looking forward to this one.
Taste: Crazy! It's got the huge, sweet, banana and spice flavors of a typical hefeweizen, but with an awesome, herbal, medium bitterness from the Amarillo hops. It's light, sweet, spicy, crisp, refreshing, and ends with a bitter twinge. Awesome!
Mouthfeel: On the light side of medium-bodied and creamy.
Conclusion: Great, original take on a classic German style. Wish I had a few more of these!
