Received this as an extra a long, long time ago. Ah..the simple days when New Glarus R&D beers were extras instead of beers one put their home up for mortgage to be able to afford.
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a good one finger creamy head that never really face. Just hangs out there leaving fluffy thick halo and nice lacing. Quite the looker.
S - Aromas are pleasantly interesting. I get belgian notes, fleeting esters and maybe even a flash of banana before super light tropical aromas of pineapples come in to play. Brett is still there, nice and funky with good barnyard and musty basement notes. Its pleasant, however, the whole random banana notes throws me for a loop.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, nearly identical. The brett funk is not too over powering though its the strongest flavour, the tropical notes are rather soft though the pineapple is there. That odd banana comes back and forth, in and out of the pallet. For me, that flavour (like the aroma) just doesnt work here. I'm assuming its some combo of the belgian esters and the brett.
M - The mouthfeel is quite nice, alcohol hidden well. Nice drinking.
O - Overall, I suppose this beer was a bit of a let down. I REALLY wanted it to be awesome but the belgian aspects of this beer really was more of a distraction than anything. Such a shame.

A: Cloudy brownish-golden in color. Forms a moderate sized, fine-bubble, white head. Decent retention. Moderate lacing.
S: Aroma is fairly Brett dominant. Tropical fruit and pineapple are mixed with light notes funk and basement.
T: Starts with a light sweetness. Notes of fruit, mango, and pineapple. Then some zesty spice, sort of like lemon-pepper seasoning. Finishes with a mild metallic twang.
M: Medium bodied. Crisp. Mild bitterness. Medium carbonation. Light dryness on the finish.
O: A very nice beer with a pleasant and inviting Brett character.
