From a 12 oz. bottle, thanks vacax and jerz,

A: Pours red with a nice white head, good head retention all around, solid.

S: Fragant cranberry all the way. Sugar, fruit pie, real fruit.

T: Absolutely delicious. The fruit flavour is nuts; it's incredibly good. Cranberry city, pie crust, I love it.

M: Smooth, very lightly acidic, I wouldn't classify this as a lambic due to the light acid, but it is very smooth and easy to drink.

D: I could drink this stuff by the gallon, it's just fantastic. I didn't think I could like a New Glarus beer any more than Wisconsin Belgian Red, but this is coming close. Good Lord can these guys make fruit beers!

12oz bottle, thanks Shawn and Dani for opening this one up today, 2/6/2014.

App- Light ruby-brown body, 1-finger white head that dissipates quickly. A bit of retention, a bit of lacing. Looks very well carbonated in the glass, like a champagne would.

Smell- Very much sour, like Wild Sour Ale was. A non-descript fruitiness comes out, perhaps from the cranberries. A lot of nice dry sugariness at the end. Not complex, but good.

Flavour- Similar to the nose, although the base malts come out more than in the nose. Acidity, sour is 3/10, sweet cranberries. Think Enigma but lighter bodied and crisper.

Mouthfeel- Thin bodied, which is just fine for this beer. Good carbonation, good aftertaste of aforementioned fruitiness. This beer is a bit too sweet for me to down a bottle on my own, even if I wanted to.

Overall- Interesting beer; nothing insanely special but it's a solid fruit beer by NG.

Pour is dark amber with a pinkish hue and a tight white head. Nose is huge cranberry with a strong sawdust oakiness in back and notes of vanilla. Taste is tart cranberry and lots of oaky goodness. Notes of vanilla in back with an assertive carbonation on a medium body with a very soft palate.

poured 12oz bottle in a teku. Bottled July 2011.

A - It is a orangish apple juice color with a 1 finger white head. It fades into oblivion and leaves behind a few marks of lacing.

S - This smells like the apple ale, but with added cranberry juice. Other tart fruit aromas and maybe the slightest hint of vanilla.

T - Good amounts of sweet apple are present. Tart cranberry/cherry notes fill in the middle. There is also a nice light malt and vanilla annotation to compliment the other flavors.

M - Light bodied and fully carbonated, just like Dan always does with the fruit beer.

O - What can I say? This beer is fantastic and Dan needs to brew it again since it is getting close to 4 years since it was last around.
