From a 355 ml bottle (1343 is stamped on the bottle) into a wine glass. Reviewed from notes dated August 18, 2013.
A-The brew is golden-orange in color with a slight chill haze obscuring my view. There are a few bubbles of carbonation, but the thin white head drops pretty quickly. A bit of soapy lacing is left behind as I drink.
S-The scent is slightly spicy, with dry wheat-like grain notes, citrus fruit, and biscuity, cracker-dry pale malts. I get a slight whiff of onion as the brew warms. Pretty crisp smelling.
T-The taste is also mostly dry and slightly spicy. There is a nice blend of cracker and biscuit on the one hand, and light, spiced citrus notes, on the other hand. Unfortunately, I continue to detect a light taste of earthy onion, especially as the beer warms up.
M-The brew is crisp, refreshing, and very drinkable. The carbonation is moderately assertive, which gives the beer a light to moderate heft.
O-This is nice everyday beer. It is quaffable, but not boring or insubstantial, and the 5% ABV allows for more than one beer in a sitting without trouble. Its a true session beer. That being said, I keep getting an off-putting onion note that creeps in with every other sip that drags the smell and taste scores down. Without that goofy note, this would rank much higher in my book.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My third beer from the New Glarus mixed variety twelve pack, gifted to me from my mom on a recent excursion to Wisconsin.
Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.
A - It pours a nice bright golden orange colored body with just over a finger of creamy sudsy white head. Leaves some nice thick scattered lacing on the glass. Looks very nice.
S - The smell is bright, floral, fresh, and appealing. Creamy, piney, grapefruit, oranges, and the perfect balance of bready honeyed malt.
T - The taste follows the nose - bright, juicy, and fresh tasting. Pine, oranges, grapefruit. Once again, perfectly balanced with the bready honeyed malt. A delicious American pale ale.
M - The feel is smooth, crisp, and clean. Lightly hoppy & bitter on the finish. Medium-light bodied with excellent carbonation. A deliciously easy drinker.
Overall, a classic example of the style; I would surely get this all the time if it was available to me in Illinois. This rivals some of the bigger and badder fresh Pipeworks DIPA's I've had in terms of ingredients / hoppiness and freshness. Extremely crisp, balanced, and delicious for an American pale ale. Highly recommended.
