Don't buy the hype that this is an APA...it may have been made like an APA, but it sure did not taste like one. This beer reminded me of a weiss--very fruity with strong hints of lemon and grapefruit. I'm not in to fruity beers, but as fruity beers go, this was tolerable...that said, it was not at all what I expected and more like a wine cooler than a beer.

I had this beer on-tap at the New Glarus Brewery. I liked this beer, although it might not be my favorite pale ale that I've had. It is a nice, slightly darker shade of gold. Nice head on this beer. Strong aroma, some of my party was turned off by the smell, but I enjoyed it. The taste is comparable to other pale ales I've had, a very slight bitterness. Moon Man seemed to get better as I kept drinking it though, so if you don't like it at first give it a chance. New Glarus is quickly becoming one of my favorite breweries.

This is a tasty beer! I am quite found of pale ales and generally drink IPAs. I know technically this is an APA but to me the pleasant grapefruit/pine/bitter taste of a pale ale is not only present here but also supplmented with a sweet taste. It is hoppy enough to really taste but not so hoppy that it will ruin the palette for whatever else you are having with it.

And although I enjoy a nice high abv pale ale, the lower abv of makes this beer one where I can knock back a few in a row without getting too much of a buzz. Also, knowing that New Glarus beers generally sell for $7-$8 for a six pack, thsi beer is plenty affordable.
