I knew nothing of this beer when I picked it up but was intrigued by the label's claim of using Hallertau hops and bohemian malt was enough to catch my attention. The brew absolutely delivers, having a wonderfully blended flavor.
BA lists this as a pilsner but there is less brightness and more depth of flavor than is typically found in this style. The beer pours beautifully but has a muted scent. I would call this closer to a marzen than a pilsner. Definitely worth a try.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Acquired as part of the variety twelve pack that my mom gave me from a trip to Wisconsin. My second review of a beer from New Glarus Brewing Co.
Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.
A - It pours a crisp golden amber colored body with just under two fingers of foamy off-white head. Leaves behind some thick moderate lacing. Looks very nice.
S - The smell is pleasant, bright, and appealing - floral hops, lightly grassy, herbal, light spice, and some citrus. The Bohemian malt is apparent. Average, but very nice.
T - Taste follows the nose - grassy, grainy, floral, herbal. Again, the bready Bohemian malt is apparent.
M - The feel is smooth, crisp, & clean. Easy drinking, light-bodied, with excellent carbonation. Lightly dry and bready on the finish.
Overall, an exceptionally smooth and classic lager. Very easy drinking with a moderate 5.00% abv. Would definitely drink this much more often if it was available to me in Illinois.
