Pours a glassy, clear coppery bronze color, with copious bubbles and a snapping, crackling head of sea foam whiteness.
Nose is fresh, fresher, freshest, the kind of aroma you'd find in any given glass of fresh German pils at any good German pub. Simple, grain-leaning, earthy, with a slight hint of sweetness and a small but supportive mineral presence.
Simple of flavor, and authentic too. Slight shades of caramel and herbal tea, earthy/grainy in focus, biscuit-like core, generous green apple flavor, and a super, almost grape candy-like sweetness that gives the beer more depth than your typical tossed-off U.S.-brewed German-style pils.
Smooth and even a little sticky, while staying buoyant and energetic thanks to pleasantly prickly carbonation.
It's way solid. Two Women is yet another quality addition to the large and usually very impressive New Glarus roster. I like when they get more experimental than this, but they also do sessionable, traditional beers the right way 99% of the time.
