Big ups to DaPeculiarDane for dis bottle. Much love to everyone else, too.
With hops being selfish and standoffish, BRING ON THE MALTY BEERS!
(Kind of sad, but excited to be challenged)
Staghorn, besides being a truly awesome name and bottle, is a good offering from New Glarus. It appears on the paler side of amber, with some bubbles and a little lacing.
The nose is not very large, unobtrusive and petite with notes of Rollo's and berries reminiscent of dark carastan. I was hoping for a little more on this one. I wish I had this in a liter boot. Half a bottle doesn't kick up enough stank!
The tastiness is working it and not giving any offense. I think the smell of a brew has become my favorite part and the taste has a tough time keeping up with it. Let me be the first one to say of a 6.25% ABV beer, it hides the alcohol well.
Mouthfeel was silky and medium.
I would happily enjoy this one while relaxing at any taproom. This is a beer that I would want on draft to experience the nuances over the course of a liter or so. I feel like one bottle doesn't let you get to know it enough.

Pours a clear copper, nice bubbles from the bottom, Finger of off white head, good looking lager
Smell is grain, cereal, bread, caramel, herbal hop, biscuit. toffee, but most of all a big bready grainy malt, smells like a good marzen!
Taste is bready/grainy malt, herbal hop is there but very minimal, caramel, kind of a crisp flavor, biscuit, toffee.
Mouthfeel is medium light, medium high carbonation, wet finish but crisp
Best Oktoberfest goin IMO... Blessed to live in WI, also blessed that New Glarus beers hold up a lot better then most with a few months on um! Prost my friends!
