Pure and crisp this is a beer with nothing to hide. Wisconsin two-row barley malt ensures a mellow and smooth body. We imported Noble Hop varieties from Germany and the Czech Republic to ensure a fine mature aroma with no coarse bitterness.

Poured from a12-oz bottle into a Pilsner glass.

Appearance: Light golden; massive white head that dissipated fairly quickly leaving a ring of foam and some lacing.

Nose: Light, bready grain.

Mouthfeel: Not thick, but thicker than I would have expected.

Attack: Follows the nose, not bad, though not a lot of depth.

Finish: Light hop bitterness appropriate for the style.

Overall: Drinkable, nothing special here; fairly typical for the style.

(12 oz bottle, no date/code; purchased single off shelf at brewery today... poured into a Busch shaker pint)

Clear, pale-gold color with almost jade highlights; white, fragile, persistent foam cap; doesn't lace much, but not surprised... 'beery' aromas; nip of fermenting dough, lemon-pithy accents; gets a bit more biscuit-malty over time... clean, mellow malt foundation, with the water (minerally) coming through a curious amount; aftertaste is relatively dry with a green leafy tone to the pithy character picked up on the nose... clean, smooth, light body, with just a tiny tail of roundness in the finish; mellow sizzle... it's a step above a standard aal, but it seems like it could be more; simple, serviceable, well-executed (2183)

Man, rarely does a brew hit all the marks I expect, but this one wins the straight 5's award for me. Setting it up with the name "Totally Naked" - I expected no craziness, and this one was just a good, easy drinking, honest to beerness lager. I snagged a 12-pack on vacation in Wisconsin Dells....the last in the case, so glad I got it.

My wife and I both really liked this one on a hot day at the lake. Hazy blonde, nice head and easy drinking malt goodness. Smells of easy drinking hearty lager - not pretentious, not complex, just beer.

I like complex and interesting beers - and I never take marking something at 5/5 without hesitation. It's a high mark to achieve. I just feel this one, it's what it's supposed to be, it's good honest brew, and it's a crowdpleaser. This shrugs off that whole complicated beer selection process and just says - hey, drink a beer! But it's not boring, not at all, it's has a sweetness and creamy mouthfeel texture that makes you feel like throwing back another.

5 thumbs up, way up, way to go New Glarus for a winning summer brew.

Crisp and clean lager that is very refreshing. Definitely, a solid Czech lager that does not disappoint. It would be especially satiating on a hot day.

Exactly as advertised, a simple no frills beer. Bright and bubbly, very smooth. Slightly sour grass taste on the finish. Not able to distinguish much spice from the hops. Clean and nice to drink but the flavor is not causing too much desire for more after one or two for me.

Both my wife and I enjoyed the taste and body of this refreshing beer. It was light and very delightful. It was a pleasure to drink. Thank you New Glarus for this special beer. Unfortunately, we cannot buy it in Illinois. Bummer! Nonetheless, it makes our trips to Wisconsin more enjoyable.

Appearance: Clear yellow, good head.

Smell: Bit of skunk at first, then mild bready aroma.

Taste: Mild sweetness, then a nice little toasted bread flavor. More body than expected for a 4.25% abv beer.

Overall: A good lawnmower beer or sit around the house because it's too hot beer. More flavor than your macro light beers while being the same abv. A good option when in Wisconsin.

Clear, golden body; excellent carbonation; good head, white, fizzy but somewhat lasting. Beautiful nose; toasted cereal grain. Rich, grain-centric flavor; light honey sensation; moderate hop bitterness; clean; mild herbal taste. Medium body; light with a mild efflorescence; crisp; lightly dry.

I love a good, clean, simple lager. This one hits the spot.

12oz bottle. No dating information found, but etched at bottom of the bottle is '022328125973A'.
Clear, straw colored body. One thin finger of white head, which persists. Leaves behind scattered small spots of lacing.
Aroma of sweet toasted malt and earthy/floral hops.
Taste is bright with toasted bread malts and floral/spicy hops. Touch of sulfur.
Medium mouth feel. Clean and crisp finish. Very good carbonation.
Pleasant drinking lager that is thirst quenching.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a narrow tulip.

Look - Mild straw color with impeccable clarity. Voluminous bone-white head that quickly tempers down, leaving a respectable amount of lacing. A picture perfect representation of a light lager.

Smell - Damp grass and white bread. Very faint and very simple.

Taste - Beautifully lithe and nimble. Crisp, refreshing, befitting of spring. The perfect little prickle of herbal bitterness resting on a gentle grain bed.

Feel - Just the right consistency, almost slick somehow. Could be a bit more effervescent, a little more perk and pop would make this even more refreshing.

Overall - Not really any standout characteristics or anything that wows me, but it's still a decent little refreshing drink. Somehow feels ideal for this early spring time. Would recommend, but wouldn't say to go out of your way for it.

12 oz bottle thanks to Steve. Pale golden pour with a small cap of head. Aroma is light and sweet, grainy, grassy. Taste is also more of the grains, meadow notes, again sweet, and I get some vanilla notes. Light and crisp.

it has been years, many of them, since i had a new one from new glarus! stoked to get into a mixed box from my wifes aunt recently, never seen this pils type lager before. its really solid, great for its simplicity, the name suits the beer, could just be a single grain, a single hop, and this yeast strain, so minimal but so bright and drinkable, refreshing without being boring, and more complex in flavor than the typical american yellow lager, not sure if this is supposed to be listed as a pilsener or not, but it drinks more like one. neat that they use wisconsin grain for this, not too familiar to my palate, but this seems like a hearty pale barley malt fermented down to absolute dryness with a sort of old worldy lager yeast, a little bread yeast thing in the middle of this but absolutely clean and dry on the swallow, love that liveliness! the hops are most definitely noble, saaz or tettnanger likely, but im not positive. herbal, drying, simple, only just bitter enough for this to be snappy, and uniquely fresh in a style where that thought doesnt come up much unless its decidedly not fresh. great balance to this, crackery and clean, exceptional water chemistry at its core and that matters a lot in a beer this basic. way more flavorful than most of its peers, gorgeously refined, killer when ice cold but it warms up better than average too. really enjoyed this, excited to have a few more in the fridge for new years eve! i reckon this is underrated here on BA.
