Appearance: Crystal clear straw to lemony yellow. A finger or two of nice fluffy head. A very pretty bear.
Smell: Pretty clean, mostly malt with a bit of herbal of floral and a bit less than that herbal hoppiness.
Taste: Clear and brisk lager. Some grassiness. Well balanced malt and hops throughout with just a faint hint of citrus to go with the herbal and floral hops. Just a touch of bitterness, again in perfect balance, and a dry finish.
Moutfeel: Light lager body, just the right amount of carbonation.
This beer is everything a basic lager should be. And is the perfect reminder that a well executed basic lager is not boring or bad. Beer this clean is unforgiving when it comes to hiding mistakes and shortcuts, and this shows none.
If I lived in Wisconsin my fridge would always be stocked with this, particularly in the summer months.
