Pours a moderate amber with a huge, creamy beige head. Probably on the dark side for the style but within the bounds listed. Otherwise I'm not sure what could be better here.
The aroma isn't as intense as Dancing Man but is otherwise very similar - lots of banana, bubblegum and spices, moderately sweet. The lower intensity would appear to be correct for a Kristalweizen.
The flavor is just a little watery but what's present is just what I'd expect. The flavor follows the aroma to a T - banana, bubblegum and spices. Just a hint of bitterness on the tail end. Oddly enough, for a 4.5% beer, there's also a bit of alcohol in the flavor.
Lots of creamy, smooth carbonation adds just the right touch to a moderately light body.
I'll have to try this and Dancing Man back to back to decide which I prefer but the fact that it's even close says volumes about this beer. The lower ABV gives it a boost for me, Dancing Man's slightly punchier flavor is in it's favor. Absolutely wonderful - I wonder if there's any chance that they'll do this one year round.

Pours a nice, soapy head. Great hefe aroma of banana and clove. AMAZING burnt sienna color. Starts with sweet malt and notes of banana and clove. Hops are definitely taking a back seat as the bready malt builds up to make for a banana bread finish.
Perfect. Sublime. I could drink this all day, every day. When this was out (this is my last bottle), I bought it EVERY time I got a chance. This redefines Kristalweizens for me. NOW I love them as much (or more) than a hefeweizen.

12 oz bottle poured into a weizen glass.
2271 on the neck, no info.
A - Laughing Fox pours a crystal clear bronzy amber color complete with a light tan head. The four fingers of dense foam has intense retention but eventually leaves the glass caked in sheets of lace.
S - Fragrant and pungent, the aroma is bursting with German yeast esters of clove and banana with sly cinnamon hints. Soft wheat with mildly toasted amber malt notes provides the base.
T - Munich malts and light toasted amber notes are buried in the fox hole by German yeast esters. Banana, clove, and light cinnamon spice accentuate the wheat softness.
M - Smooth and soft, Laughing Fox is a medium-bodied beer with strong carbonation and a light spicy finish with great balance.
O - The empty glass, showing the fox's quick departure, is coated with lace and leaves a nice flavor lingering on my palate. Laughing Fox, like all other wheat beers from New Glarus, is outstanding; just world class! Surprisingly toasty, cunningly balanced, and delicious all around, it's a great seasonal with plenty of character!

Pours a clear amber with a massive off-white head.
Huge bubblegum aroma. A little bit of banana, spice and clove, but I've never smelled a beer quite like this.
Taste follows the aroma. Loads of bubblegum flavor. Just a touch of clove which is my personal preference. Just a little bit of caramel sweetness.
Fairly light mouthfeel with good carbonation.
I love a good take on a more traditional style and New Glarus usually pulls it off better than anyone and this is no exception. Very good beer.
