A - (tulip glass) Pours an intense ruby a shade shy of brown. A vigorous pour results in a hearty head that reduces to a nice off white cap of foam. The head is persistent but lacking a good lacing.
S - The aroma reminds of tootsie rolls intensely gooey/sweet chocolate along with some faint cherry notes.
T - The chocolate is dimmed down in contrast to its aroma. Some sourness shines though, with dark ripe red fruits. Finishes quite dry.
M - Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Some lingering sweetness but very mild and pleasant
O - Overall I think it is a great twist to the classic Dubbel. I think the chocolate was incorporated without overtaking the classic wine characteristics of a good Belgian Dubbel.
