Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. apple juice on the nose, mixed fruits and berries on the tongue.... slightly tart, wonderfully amazing. this is beautiful. it's been sitting in my cellar/frig for at least two years now, down on the bottom and almost forgotten. not sure if these are cellarable, but it is still very good even though this is my first taste of this. i admittedly dont know what to look for in 'LOOK' for ratings, so it's a 4. but the rest of this is very very good..... i have not done these much so i'm a rookie on rating, but my palate loves it and is why i give it the scores it got.

Pours a brownish red color from the bottle. Has apple in the nose with some tartness from the cherries and/or the cranberries. The taste is a delicious blend of sweet apples, tart cherries and tart cranberries. This is an excellent fruit beer.

Had December 29th. Poured January 2nd. Have yet to try a New Glarus sour, so I'm really looking forward to this.

Appearance: Red brown in color. Small ring of light brown head. Active carbonation.

Smell: Apple. Raspberry. Cherry. Mostly apple, I'd say -- on the nose and in the taste. Nice and tart with a perfect amount of sweetness and a dry "snap" of a granny smith apple sort of finish. Clean as hell. Little malt on the back end with a slight oak and tannin vibe. Moderate body with an active but not-too-intense carbonation.

You fools can keep your Redd's Apple Ales and what-the-hell-ever else, I'll take some of this. Love the tartness and sweetness levels as well as the awesome apple/cherry/raspberry flavors. Absolutely delicious.

Poured into a snifter.

3.25 A: Clear cherry plum color. One finger of beige fizzy head that falls pretty quickly and leaves no lacing.

5.0 S: My goodness. Actually, holy shit. The fruits in this are incredible. All of them come through supremely strong. I can't decide whether the apple, cranberry, or cherry is most potent. It's like a cider mixed with a cherry wine and cranberry sauce except that they don't suffer from dilution. This might even smell better than it's big sisters.

4.75 T: Like the nose, the fruit trio is incredible in the taste. Equal strength among them all. Powerful and delicious. Any semblance of the base beer is covered by the fruits. Just so damn good.

4.5 M: Medium body. Good spritzy moderate carbonation. This doesn't have the dense syrupy mouthfeel that the fruit twins have. Rather, this is more crisp and refreshing. Still very good.

5.0 D: Love it. I could drink a bottle everyday for a good month if I had the money and the beer.

750ml bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours a murky brown color with a creamy small white head that retains nicely

S- aroma initially reminds me of fruit punch. Aromas of freshly pressed apple juice, sugared cranberries, marichino cherries, homemade jam, very nice

T- initial flavor is of cherry pie, even the sugary glaze, followed by fresh pressed Apple juice, and a bit of cranberry tartness. As with their other fruit beers, it's very sweet. But this one isn't cloying. Finishes with more cherry & cranberry.

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a medium-thick syrupy mouthfeel that continues to the finish

O- my 5th NG fruit beer and this is my favorite, the 3 fruits blend very well

Favorite fruit beer. A little sweet for me and could use more ABV. The mouthfeel is too thin but this is a fruit beer. Great brew over all. Love NG!

Doesn't bring the sexy appearance wise, its brown and kinda meh. Aroma bangs it out though. Apple, cherry, cranberry. Very croosh.

Taste is more of the fruits, good tartness to cut through the ample sweetness. Found it weird that for a beer made during a cherry crop failure, that this one tastes of plenty cherry.

Elite 1st tier fruit beer stuff.

Has the look of barqs red cream soda with minimal foam.

smell somewhat reminds me of a warm cherry pie.

Tastes like a local cherry flavored apple cider with hints of cranberry tartness. Finishing with an apple tart bite.

Leaves a decent salivation factor feel. Would go great with some seafood.

Pours reddish-brown. The smell is an amazing blend of tart cherries and just enough cranberries to keep it interesting. On the nose the apple is very faint. The apple is much more noticeable in the taste and provides a solid background for the cherry and cranberry to take their turn. It's fairly sweet but never cloying and the fruit brings enough tartness to keep it balanced. Mouthfeel is just about perfect. Overall another great fruit beer from New Glarus!

Smells of raw, fresh, unpasteurized apple juice mixed with a tinge of tart berry puree. Fermented fruit juice is evident right off the bat in the tongue and is crisp and tangy...then the beer does a full 180 and tasty sweet and creamy, like a tart topped with whipped cream. Extremely unique and tasty beer.

Poured into a fluted chanpagne glass.
A - Pours an opaque reddish brown color with a small head that settles to just a ring.
S - I'm getting mostly cherries, maybe cranberry.
T - Tart cherries on the front end, then you start to think other fruit is involved as it covers your tongue. Very sweet in a good way.
M - High carbonation, refreshing.
O - This is not bad by any means but it is my least favorite of NG's fruit beers. I prefer the Belgian Red or the Raspberry Tart.

The beer pours with low carbonation, the smell is of sour cherries and cranberries, the taste changes as it warms up, first the subtle funk and later a great Jolly Rancher, it finishes great between sweet and sour.

Bomber poured into a tulip glass at approximately 40 degrees F.

Appearance: Pours a deep, rich mahogany red-brown, and forms a dense, fluffy multi-finger head of off-white foam that lasts and lasts. Lacing is off the hook.

Smell: Fruit greets the nose cheerily, a burst of cranberries and cherries, all just slightly sour. Beneath, tones of sweet red apple and caramel malt buttress and support the sour fruits.

Taste: Just a sublime fruit beer. This opens much like an apple juice made with gala and honeycrisp, which has had a significant amount of cherry-cranberry preserves dissolved in it. There are faint hints of tart sour to the fruit, and the barest whiff of farmland funk along for the ride. All of that dances atop a solid platform of sweet caramel malt flavor. The finish and aftertaste are a mix of the fruit juice and malt aspects. Sublime.

Mouthfeel: Thick, creamy, smooth, clingy, sticky, and yes - that bit of word salad adequately sums up the feel.

Overall: "Sublime" has already been mentioned, so it shall be left at that. Personally, I'd put this in my regular drinking rotation, were I closer to Wisconsin.

Comes out a ruddy brown color, some bits of reddiness running through it. Pour yields almost no head on it, but the carbonation is just right, just doesn't amount to anything pretty.

Excellent aroma, you get lots of fruit, dynamic apple, tart cherry, cranberry as well.

Taste was like a blend of all the NG fruit beers. Its sweet, but not sugary, tart, but not sour, just a solid blend of everything. Comes down in the middle of the pack for their beers, which is a huge compliment, because they're all so damn good. Tear this up on a hot day, or a morning beer, very fitting.

I'm always looking to trade for this beer. NG fruit beers and CW -bals.

750 ml shared

L - Two finger head was poured that reduced. Dark copper mahogany color with nice clarity when held up to the light. Small bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was enjoyed.

A - Lots of fruit....apple, cherry, raspberry....smells sweet.

T - Fruity deliciousness. Sweetness and tartness. Love this.

M - Med/high carb...nice lingering flavor....light bodied

O - Really enjoyed this...my first true adventure into fruit beers was a success. This beer made me want to have alot more like this.

I drank a whole 25 oz. bottle for this review from a pilsner glass. The first pour was refrigerator-cold but I let the bottle sit out for about an hour before for the second glass.

Pours copper red with a few fingers of light brown head. The foam had a little more color and thickness on the second pour. The head continued to develop when I swirled the glass a bit, even at the very bottom.

Aroma is tart and the apple dominates for me, though others pick out the cherry more. The second glass smelled sweeter than tart, the malt came through strongly, and I was able to pick out the oak as well.

Initial flavor is tart apple mixed with crisp cherry. You can focus on one or the other, like how an optical illusion appears slanted left or right. The malty background is there throughout and you can really work it up by swirling in your mouth. Cranberries take over once you swallow with their unmistakable bite. Again, the second (slightly warmer) glass is sweeter and the tartness isn't there anymore. I didn't notice the malt any more than the first glass but the oak is stronger. The flavor really goes through stages. My brother said every sip is a story.

Lots of carbonation, you could easily fill up the glass with foam. You can take a sip and hear the bubbles inside your mouth. Swirling it around produces a nice bit of foam in your mouth.

This is one of my favorites right now, I give it as gifts to everyone I know. I have a friend who is prejudiced against fruit beer so I made him taste it and he had to admit it was quite good. Even people who "don't like beer" like this. It's what wine coolers wish they could be. It's like the sparkling juice that the kids table gets while the adults drink wine, but has so much more than sweet to offer. At 4% alcohol one person can easily drink the whole bottle but it's best shared with someone. The first time I tried it was early in the summer with my brother and we were both blown away. It's good anytime but is particularly refreshing when it's hot out.

Big cherry character in aroma, with tart apple as secondary. Flavor is the same. Delicious, rich fruit character. Can't believe they extract that much flavor.

This beer caught me totally off-guard. I didn't really have any expectations of it to begin with but as soon as I popped the cap, I was flooded with beautiful cherry and cranberry notes. The apple is a little bit more subtle in taste and seems to impart more sweetness to counterbalance the tartness from the other two fruits. I am extremely happy with this beer.

This is my second New Glarus beer and again I am impressed. The first beer I tried was the Wisconsin New Belgium Red and though Serendipity is not drastically different it's just as good. Fruit beers are usually too tart or too sweet for my taste but this one is the perfect combination. Looking forward to trying more beers from New Glarus

This was my first time trying a new glarus fruit. It was a lot less tart then other fruits/sours that I have had. Overall it was a good beer that had a lot of flavor, with a little bit of sourness at the end. Hoping the other fruits are up to far!

750 ml was poured into a snifter.

Appearance: A two finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a dark copper mahogany color with good clarity when held up to the light and vision of tiny bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Apple, cherry, raspberrie, oak, musty, sour, beady,

Taste: Fruity deliciousness. Tart, sour, chewy, and oak. Tasty, balanced, and easy to drink.

Mouthfeel: Tart, oaky, fruity, sour, light bodied, sweet, a little dry, and medium to high carbonation.

Overall: I like it, I like a lot. Grea to share with a friend. Look forward to more of these in the futyre.
