Notes/Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

750 Ml bottle poured into Surly Darkness glass shared with scoand

A- Pours a big 3-4 inch white head that dissipates slowly, nice ruby, brownish red color, very nice lacing that coats the glass, attractive beer.
S- Wow strong apple cider like aroma, cherries come out as well, very rich and sweet, but that apple comes out strongest, makes my mouth water.
T- Taste is amazing, absolutely love this beer, apple is so strong but not over the top, apple tartness, sweet cherries, nice tartness, so refreshing and delicious, sweet fruity goodness.
M- Light mouthfeel, crisp finish, well carbonated, clean on the palate.
O- Wow im very surprised, i new it was going to be good, but i dint know it would be this good, apple cider, cherries, tartness, so refreshing, fruity goodness. My favorite of all the new glarus fruit beers.

Was fortunate enough to get this bottle in a trade with anticipation23. Poured into an Odell's branded tulip glass.

Pours a hazed rusty hue with copper high-lights when held up to a light source, tan head with nice lacing. A lot of fresh apples and tart cherries on the nose, the cranberry is noticeable but toned down compared to the others, very slight hint of barrel funk. Just like the nose, the apples and cherries make up a big part of the overall flavor, the finish is slightly tart from the cherries and cranberries with a touch of that barrel funk that was in the nose as well. The mouthfeel is lightly effervescent with small bubbles, silky smooth with a dry finish.

Bottle (2013)

Thanks, pschul4!

A dark amber and ruby with a moderately-sized khaki colored head. Leaves the glass fairly clean on the way down. Appealing and pretty fruit beer.

A big, expressive, fruity, and sweet aroma. It doesn't quite fall into the fruit syrup category, but this is definitely sweet and fruity. Big elements of cherry, cranberry, and a little apple mingle together nicely.

The flavor follows the aroma; the sweetness and fruit play together nicely. Again, cherries and cranberries are the big players here. Some apple as well. Very drinkable. Gulpable, even.

Near medium bodied with low-moderate carbonation. Almost juice like.

Very tasty, and not a big departure from New Glarus's other fruit beers.

A darker brown color with some red running through it, almost no head on the beer, the flimsy bubbles that were produced quickly vanished into the summerscape.

Cool aroma that clearly gets all the fruit aspects across, was surprised how prevalent the cherry was. Apple and cranberry followed that up. Pleasant, tart.

Taste was like many of the 750 fruit beers from NG: Plenty of sweetness, but never sugary, tart, but nowhere near mouth puckering sourness. These are mild in the sour department, but they really do seem to be going for a balanced approach to all things fruit. Funny to think how good of a beer they can make by "accident". Cherry in the mouthfeel was still the dominant part of the profile.

I think I would like an even more sour, innoculated version of this beer. Crank it up f'ers.

Not better than the Belgian Red, but just as good if not better than Raspberry Tart. Plenty of unique points on this one. Plenty light on its feet at 4% abv. A great morning and hot weather beer. Plenty earthy too. Good for blowing minds when people think the only beer is BMC AAL's.
