Notes/Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

Clear, see through amber color with thin light tan head. Beer is setting on the table about a foot away and I can smell apple cider, and a closer smell also reveals the cherries. One word, WOW!! This is so good! Flavors of the fruit blend so well together. Sweetness form the apples and a sour punch from the cherries and cranberries. Mouthfeel is light and carbonated with some puckering.

Overall, what a fabulous beer, this not my typical style but I will be drinking more of this. Everyone needs to try this gem.

Shared this with Sendsilk. He introduced me to New Glarus. Thanks man.

Appearance: Pours a red/pink color with a film of a white head. Just looks like a fruit beer.

Smell: Smells of straight up sweet apples and strawberries. So inviting.

Taste - Taste is strawberry soda and apples. Not too sweet. Not too syrupy. Just perfect.

Mouthfeel: Light mouthfeel.

Overall: One of the best fruit beers I've ever had. Just right. If I traded, this, Raspberry Tart and Wisconsin Belgian Red would be on my permanent ISO list. I could drink this every day.

Served from a bomber bought at the brewery in July 2013, though I had tried it already in a sampler glass at the brewery. It sat in my fridge for several months waiting for a special occasion. I opened it back in February after a successful day of house cleaning, which should not have been a special occasion but was, as I am a slob. From memory:

A: This beer is gorgeous. The initial pour is a deep, clear red that looks like some sort of jewel. (A garnet? I don't know from jewels.) The final pour contains a bit of sediment, making it look slightly more brown and a bit less striking, but let's not pick nits. The head doesn't last very long, but that makes sense given that it's almost more like fruit soda than beer (in a good way!).

S: A surprisingly mild smell, given the taste explosion that follows. But you can clearly smell the apples and cherries. Odd that I don't really pick up on the cranberries, but I have basically permanent allergies, so that could be the problem. No hop aroma whatsoever, and not much malt.

T: The initial impression is of sour cherries, but the apples assert themselves presently and the cranberries make their appearance an instant later. There is a suggestion of malt backbone to make you remember you're drinking beer, but the primary flavors are the sweet, tart fruits on the label. Absolutely awesome! I had no idea you could do this with beer.

M: Crisp, well-carbonated, and refreshing, again almost like a soda, making this beer quite drinkable despite its intensity.

Overall: A really excellent beer. I wish I lived closer to the Wisconsin border so I could pick this up again.
