Notes/Commercial Description:
Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The Apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavor discovered by accident in a sour ale!

Cheers to the unexpected.

750ml into a cervoise. The brew pours a clear ruby tinted to copper color with just shy of 3 fingers of tan froth. The cap collapses leaving some sudsy lace sticking in patches and stringy fingers on the glass. A swirl revives a pretty solid finger of silk that fades slowly.

The aroma of this is fresh and fruity with a solid amount of tart indication also emitting from the glass. The cherry quality leads the way in the nose with a slightly medicinal aspect almost like cherry luden cough drops. There is a bit of a dusty or dirty quality also found in the nose that lends an earthen sort of feel all across the middle. That dusty aspect gives this a real natural essence. As the brew warms up, more of a focus switches to the apple character.

The flavor upfront is tart with a character of unripened cherries blended with cranberry. Across the middle is some apple or pear skin character that almost wants to take this brew off in a direction of cider but not quite. The tartness blended with residual sugar makes for almost a medicinal feel to this brew that mildly burns the back of the throat. While this is a pretty juicy fruit beer, there are trace moments of herbal hops coming through that let you know this is still beer. The warmer the brew gets in my glass, the more the apple starts to come through that was initially masked a bit.

This is a medium bodied offering with a modest amount of carbonation. It is very easy drinking with the alcohol seemingly nonexistent. My only gripe is the medicinal aspect that pokes out at times but overall this is pretty good. You get everything as advertised in this: cherry, cranberry and apple in equal parts. I am impressed but this isnt something I would drink regularly.

(Served in a teku)
A-This beer pours a clear dense brown body with a red hue and a thick tan foam.

S- There is a nice mixed berry and fruit aroma with some apple skins in the finish.

T- The well-blended fruit flavor has some cherry notes to it with a jammy but not overly sweet flavor that leads to a fresh cider taste. There is a slight tart finish and a nice woody dry cola note that comes through as it opens.

M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel with a crisp fizz.

O- This beer has a really nice depth to the fruit flavor and a great freshness to it. The intense fruit flavor would be nice in smaller bottles.

Through a drought brought us salvation, in the form of Serendipity, a fruit ale that pours a deep ruby red. Pinkish head forms and leaves a fair amount of lace.

Aroma of fruit juice and ale, consisting mainly of sweet dough, fresh apples, berry and cherry. Not surprisingly, the key ingredients in this brew really shine in the aroma. Quite an appetizing bouquet.

In the taste, waves of cherry, cider, berries and beer. Some caramel, honey, and raspberry. Just a soft oak and not overly dry. Light bodied, well carbonated, finishes with a fair tartness.

Overall, freaking great. A fruit ale with complexity. Very tasty.

The beer appears ruby to amber with a frothy, off white head. The aroma brings a potent dose of apples, pears, tart cranberries, sweet fruit juices. A typical New Glarus fruit beer. Bold and assertive. Teeming with flavor. Sweet cherries and apples with minimal alcohol. Though a bit sweet for my tastes, there's no denying that this is a terrific beer. Fantastic in small quantities.

A: Pours a deep ruby red color with a small off white head on top. Decent head retention, leaving a thin cap on top. Minimal lacing.

S: Getting all three fruit flavors on the aroma, with the cherries upfront, cranberries in the middle, and a really nice apple aroma on the finish. Very fruit, similar to other NG fruit beers, very inviting.

T: Again, a very nice blend of all three fruits, with a bit more of an assertive cherry flavor upfront, a bit less cranberry and a smooth apple finish, sort of a cider/apple juice blend flavor. Right after the apple is a slight mouth pucker tartness.

M: Medium bodied and smooth, extremely drinkable, just like Raspberry Tart and Belgian Red.

O: Fantastic, right up there with the other NG fruit beers.

A darker brown color with some red running through it, almost no head on the beer, the flimsy bubbles that were produced quickly vanished into the summerscape.

Cool aroma that clearly gets all the fruit aspects across, was surprised how prevalent the cherry was. Apple and cranberry followed that up. Pleasant, tart.

Taste was like many of the 750 fruit beers from NG: Plenty of sweetness, but never sugary, tart, but nowhere near mouth puckering sourness. These are mild in the sour department, but they really do seem to be going for a balanced approach to all things fruit. Funny to think how good of a beer they can make by "accident". Cherry in the mouthfeel was still the dominant part of the profile.

I think I would like an even more sour, innoculated version of this beer. Crank it up f'ers.

Not better than the Belgian Red, but just as good if not better than Raspberry Tart. Plenty of unique points on this one. Plenty light on its feet at 4% abv. A great morning and hot weather beer. Plenty earthy too. Good for blowing minds when people think the only beer is BMC AAL's.

Poured a lovely, sparkling clear red color with a small but moderately durable red-tan head that left the glass nicely coated when tipped.

Has a very fruity aroma; tart. Appealing yet it didn't prepare me for the magnificent taste. The flavor is loaded with mixed fruit, with both cranberries and cherries evident. Perfect TART/sweet balance. Serendipity indeed.

The medium-light body is quietly lively yet creamy smooth.

O: as good as any fruit beer I've ever had, including the finest Belgian lambics.

Bottle from buzze40, 750ml into a tulip.

Crazy ruby tones with an offwhite head. Good retention and lacing. Nose of cranberry and apple pie, some cherry sucker character as well. All three fruits are surprisingly well represented. Sweet malt, but fruits are huge. Taste has all of the fruits well represented, some pie filling, jammy and jolly rancher/lollipop flavours of the fruits in this brew. Medium feel, moderate sweetness and some effervescence. The Carey's hit it out of the park again.

Bottle from MeadMe, thanks for the opportunity.
Pours a fairly clear pinkish amber color with a with a huge bubbly pink tinged head that persists forever. The aroma is sweet tart and fruity. Tart and sweet cherries with bits of brown sugar and a touch of apple cider and tart berries with a hint of vanilla and oak. The flavor is quite sweet but the tart and fruitiness from the berries and apples counter that nicely. Very subtle woody vanilla flavors round this one out nicely. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet light syrupy mouthfeel. Nice brew, I would have really liked a bit more tartness, but I still had no problem enjoying this one.
