Thumbprint series release from several years ago. Like myself, this beer ain't getting any younger, so might as well finally get around to drinkin' it.
Pours very fizzy from age, but it settles down quickly into a dark red semi-translucent beer that looks like pressed fruit.
Smells nice and rounded: wearing its age and its spices quite well. Fruiter than it would have been fresh, of course, but the nodes of apples and raisins work well against nodes of black pepper and candi sugar.
Tastes like it smells: pleasantly aged, fruity up front but never too sweet, spicy in the middle, yeasty on the back end and then spiced fruitcake on the finish.
Five years of aging have made this more resemble a Belgian Tripel than a winter warmer, and it's a very pleasant thing indeed. I can't quite recommend putting forth the effort to track this down, but if you can find an old bottle laying around now it certainly a good time to drink it.

Man this beer had an amazing body. A perfect winter beer with great finish. A Toffee aspect with a great look and a great aroma when you take your first smell.

From tasting notes. Pours gold with a slight haze under a creamy 2” white foam collar. Big toffee character on both the nose and the palate with a light hop touch. Very clean flavors. Medium body and medium fine carbonation.

12oz bottle poured into rocks glass. Clear reddish copper with a tall white head that quickly fades. No lacing, but that may be the glassware. Spiced pear, malt, toffee, and clove. Taste is initially bitter earthiness followed by toasted malt, bread, and caramel sweetness, ending with alcohol spice and pear esters. Medium-light body, creamy texture, active carbonation, and a semi dry toasted finish.
