Cloudy dark brown, good initial head, that leaves a ring of lace.
Smells of Belgian yeast atop apple, pear, raisin, clove.
When cold, a sharp and earthy hop presence dominates. As it warms, subtle clove, apple, malt, and yeast show. Aftertaste of a subtle dark chocolate hop note. I guess Strong Ale is a catch all, this strikes me as a Dubbel, but is danker and murkier than most. Quite interesting.
Highly carbonated, smoothes as it warms.
Congrats to 20 years!
