Pours a murky brown with an inch head that dissipates quickly, kind of an ugly beer but in a good way. On the nose I get fresh squeezed cider and strawberry preserves. On the palate the strawberry preserves really come forward with a little rhubarb in the background. Perfect level of sweetness and a light tartness. Full mouthfeel. Overall really good and strawberry is probably one of my least favorite fruits, really looking forward to the other New Glarus Fruit beers as this was my first.

This was by far the best of the New Glarus fruits, hands down! The taste of the strawberry was overwhelming but in a good way. Maybe that was because we cracked this open after many many stouts. Either way, by a mile the best NG Fruit in my opinion!

This is the third New Glarus I have tried and possibly my favorite. They are all excellent though. This one smells and tastes or strawberries, but as with all New Glarus fruit beers it's neither too sweet nor too tart. It's the perfect combination and the mouthfeel is great as well. Really chewy. Just love it

L: Pours hazy reddish pink under a 1” frothy, clingy white foam collar.
S: Big strawberry nose, rhubarb aromas are very faint, flying under the strawberry.
T: big strawberry attack and then it gets tart with a little rhubarb on the finish. The rhubarb gives it some acidity and elevates the strawberry flavor more than providing flavors of its own. The tartness of the wild yeast also plays well with the strawberry sweetness.
F: Medium to medium light body, medium high carbonation.
O: An interesting, delightful beer well worth the half hour drive to Hudson, Wisconsin.

Pours a hazy brownish-red with a thin white head. The smell is total strawberry jam! Taste is a wonderful blend of sweet strawberry and bland rhubarb. The slight sour does kick the salivary glands. Nice balance for some bold flavors. Very enjoyable. Finishes busy.

A- Pours a very hazy, very deep orange to medium tan/brown in color. A big and frothy, light tan head forms and retains very well. Lacing on this one is pretty great too.

S- A strong and dominant strawberry fruitiness is what hits first on the nose. The rhubarb is definitely in there too, but the scent is predominantly strawberry. It is all fruit all the way through the smell and on the sweeter end of the scent spectrum.

T- The taste of this beer follows the same arc as the scent, except the rhubarb is a little stronger than the strawberry. At the beginning, the fruit is the prominent flavor and it continues to be through the majority of the drink, but at the back end a bit of funky grain kicks in. The grain tastes mostly like wheat, but there is also a touch of musty barnyard funk in there. Fruit lingers on the palate after the drink.

M- For the low alcohol and fruity flavor profile of this beer, the mouthfeel is rather thick and creamy. The carbonation is somewhat less than expected, but still at an acceptable level. It really goes down smooth and would be perfect on a hot summer day.

Overall, this is pretty much exactly what I expected after having Raspberry Tart and Wisconsin Belgian Red. This beer is a delicious and fruity summer beer that is well made, easy to drink, and delicious.

750ml from Todd and huge thank you!
Poured into snifter.
A: pours a milky brown, one finger off white foam head, some spotty lacing
S: simply awesome! Sweet Strawberry, peach, white grape, plum, slight tartness
M: light with some thin resin on tongue
T: tart strawberry, sweet peach, sour grape, rhubarb
O: absolute delight! May replace moon man as my favorite brew from NG. Wonderful brew and must have

If you like freshly made jelly/preserves, this is ur beer.
Got this in a trade & I was blown away by the aroma on this beer.
You can boil strawberries& rhubarb, let it cool by the window and the smell in ur kitchen will match the smell out if your goblet.
I love natural fruit, non-acidic styles and this takes the cake.

Pours a murky amber red with a frothy head. Smells like pungent fresh strawberries and berry preserves with a touch of rhubarb tang on the end. Doesnt smell artificial in any way, just packed with freshh berry. Taste pretty much follows thebnose here. Again hust bursting with strawberry preserves, although I wish it had slightly more tartness from the rhubarb, it is incredibly well balanced. Moderate carbonation, light body, and creamy. Nrw glarus just nails fruit beers and this is no exception.

A - Poured a murky amber color with a nice bubbly off-white head.
S - strawberry preserves, sugar, some maltiness.
T - sweet strawberry jam with some tart fruit and rhubarb balancing out the sweetness on the back end.
M - good carbonation with a velvety smoothness. A little dry finish rounds out the sip
O - a very good fruit beer. If sweetness is your thing, NG is one of the better makers of these types of beer.

Poured from 750mL bottle into a tulip.

Appearance: extremely murky brown hue with a layer of frothy ivory foam atop. Kind of mysterious -- though I'm not sure whether in a good or bad way. Definitely odd-looking for the style.

Smell: giant strawberry aroma that I've never seen achieved by other strawberry beers. The rhubarb doesn't pop, but there is a dash of tartness that may be due to it. I'm extremely impressed.

Taste: a bit malty with a giant strawberry flavor atop. A great strawberry flavor is so hard to achieve -- other fruits often work well, but I've never had a truly satisfying strawberry beer. New Glarus really know what they are doing here.

Mouthfeel: light body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess. Not bad.

Overall: massively drinkable and tasty, I've never had a strawberry beer that was this successful. Wonderful stuff.

Beautiful, deep reddish brown color with a medium sized head that retains well. Smells of freshly squeezed strawberries, honey, sweet cream and tart fruits. Tastes of sweet strawberries, tart fruit comes through at the back of the palate and it balances out the sweetness well. Pretty rich and full bodied for such a low alcohol brew, but it works well. Just a damn good beer overall. Sweetness is matched by the tartness of the rhubarb and the light alcohol is matched by a full, creamy body with a crisp finish. Probably my favorite beer.

Just got this bottle today from bman_85, thanks muchly!

A: Pours a cloudy dark red. Very tall, very frothy reddish-tan head. Very fine bubbles gives it a super dense appearance. Top-notch head retention. Lots of thick spiderweb lacing everywhere.

S: I'm not sure how I expected anything else, but well, it smells like strawberry rhubarb. Bright, bold sweet strawberries and a tart rhubarb underneath to balance it out. Crisp and refreshing aroma, a joy to take in. Basically tastes like strawberry jam at points.

T: Welp, pretty much exactly like the aroma indicates. There is lightly tart rhubarb initially and then a wave of sweet strawberries kicks in and balances it out. Perfectly, I might add. Great combination of tart and sweet. Lingering strawberry flavor in the aftertaste that is just wonderful. I half expect to need to pick strawberry seeds out of my teeth after each sip, it's that good.

M: Medium bodied, smooth and crisp. Refreshing. Feels way more robust than just 4%.

O: Wow, another fantastic fruit beer by New Glarus. I don't even like rhubarb and I'm not particularly a fan of strawberries for that matter. But the combination is stellar. Smooth, refreshing mouthfeel leads to great drinkability. Great balance of tart and sweet only makes it drink even better. Top, top, TOP tier fruit beer. The only competition I've ever had is other NG fruit beers (big surprise, I'm sure). Obviously I can't give it top marks for complexity or something like that but it is a perfect example of the style.

Really didn't know what to expect in this. My first try of any NG beers. Visually not super appealing with the murky brown tinted red color. Great smell on this, fresh strawberry and red fruit. Taste was fine, I would've been more on board if it had some tartness going on. Rather it left me thinking strawberry jam.

750ml bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Hazy light brown with a one-finger head that lingers quite a while
S: Strawberry & rhubarb with a light caramel malt backbone
T: Strawberry primarily with rhubarb taking a strong secondary note with caramel/malt in the background. Sweet from the freshness of the fruit, but not overly so and backed by refreshing acidity from the rhubarb
M: Very smooth, somewhat light, sweetness balanced by acidity with a fairly long finish. Tasty across the initial attack/midpalate and finish
O: Another winner from New Glarus. Follow the advice on the bottle and drink a bit colder than cellar temp. IMO it would creep closer to 5s if the rhubarb & its acidity were closer to the intensity of the strawberry though still fantastic and no complaints as is

750ml bottle, poured into a tulip glass

A- pours a murky golden brown color with a small fizzy off-white head that eventually disappears completely, leaving just some bubbles shooting to the top

S- exactly as described, it smells like a fresh strawberry pie, plenty of fresh strawberries, slight rhubarb tartness, even picking up a bit of malty flaky pie crust aroma. The strawberry doesn't smell artificial either, like with most fruit ales, pretty much spot on

T- immediately notice the contrast of sweet and tart, with the sweetness of strawberry and tartness of rhubarb. The strawberry sweetness is reminiscent of the syrup of a strawberry pie, or fresh strawberry jam. The finish continues sweet, with more strawberry on a slightly dry linger

M- medium viscous body with low carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a sweet finish that coats the mouth

O- a fruit beer that is true to it's description, it's pretty sweet and best shared, but a nice switch up from the usually mundane world of fruit beers

This beer has a lot of strawberry and is very reminiscent of a strawberry rhubarb pie. Spot on for New Glarus in that regard, but overall it is just too sweet of a beer.

750ml purchased in July in Madison, WI. Shared over this past weekend with a few friends.

A- Murky pink and red infused pour to a snifter with plenty of things in solution providing haze. A white head rises up to one finger with a frothy texture falling to a ring and big bubbly islands. Pretty good retention and lacing ends up mostly spotty but plentiful.

S- Strawberry. Strawberry. Strawberry. A blast of fresh picked berries rises out of the glass with the feel of jam and fresh berries. I don't really know the smell of rhubarb but beyond the berries is a classic sweet syrup aroma found in all of these NG beers.

T- Fresh strawberries mixed with a tastefully sweet strawberry jam with a hint of tartness which must carry in from the massive amount of fruits. Rhubarb a bit for me but it blends in well with the strawberries.

MF- Fairly light bodied with a certain thickness from the fruit long chain sugars left unfermented. Slightly oily with medium carbonation. Smooth foamy, puffy consistency and a mildly tart finish.

I wish I had more words to say besides strawberry but that describes it very well. Once again, New Glarus captures a fruit flavor better than anyone else.

Thanks to Cam for sharing another slice of New Glarus fruit goodness. Reviewed from notes.

Pour is hazy dull red with an off-white head. Good retention with some lace left.

Smell, as expected, pure strawberry jam and fruit snacks. Sugary bread and poundcake come to mind. Sweet fruitiness all the way.

Like the smell, as expected, straight up authentic strawberry, pretty sweet with very light tartness. Some leafy/seed flavors, shortcake, general fruity jam. Nice but maybe overly simplistic, not sure how much the rhubarb contributed.

Great body and flavor for the ABV. ... As expected.

Very good and authentic, but a little more cloying and not as drinkable as their other fruit 750s. A small pour of this one is best I think. Still probably the best (only?) straight-up, non-sour strawberry ale around.

Appearance: a deep dark earthy red color, almost a leathery brown. half a finger of an off white head with decent retention and a sticky lacing all along the sides. completely hazy and opaque.

Smell: fresh strawberry preservatives. herbaceous rhubarb aroma. some tart fruit. end is full of sweet graham cracker like pie crust. some strawberry candy towards the end

Taste: opens up with a strawberry candy and fresh strawberry preservatives. graham crack pie crust. some slightly tart flavors come through along with rhubarb and more herbaceous character.

Mouthfeel: very sweet but enough tartness to balance it out. pretty juicy and refreshing. medium body.

Overall: another killer fruit beer from new glarus. This one works out well with both the tartness and rhubarb to balance out the super sweet strawberry candy like flavors.

750ml poured into a snifter. The brew appears a clouded murky copper to dirty brown color with white bubbles resting atop. They fade relatively quick but a swirl revives. This brew looks like dirty water.

The smell is pretty darn intense like all NG fruit offerings are. The nose is filled with a complete essence of strawberry jam leaving little to no room for anything else. Candied strawberries coupled with fresh cut strawberries...and then more strawberry.

The taste is jammy and sweet with strawberry jam leading the way so much so that the residual sugar seemingly has a bite to the back of the throat. Then the tartness of the rhubarb comes into focus with a little earthy hop touch to round things out.

This is a medium bodied brew with a light amount of carbonation. It falls in line with all the other New Glarus fruit offerings, plenty of fruit and sticky sugars. Yet somehow balanced and not too over the top. I could never see myself drinking more than a half glass of this but it certainly is my wife's jam and she can rock this back like its nothing.

Brownish purple in color. Fruity, sour, kind of soapy smell. Nice sweet taste. Tartness from the strawberries, but still sweet. This is good, but the cherry one us better.

The basic gist I got from this one was "strawberry fruit roll-up". Very sweet, with a heavy body, although it does have a surprisingly dry finish. Fruit rollups were a treasured luxury of my childhood, so the ultrasweet experience is not without its merits. I'm not sure what rhubarb tastes like, aside from my mother subjecting me to unpleasant prickly sensations from her garden as an infant, and warning me not to eat the leaves. I left rhubarb alone after that. All I know is a 12oz pour of this is a study in strawberry, and by the end I was schooled. My wife drank about 3oz, declared she was "over it", and poured her share into my glass.
I'd like this a lot more if I could glean something other than strawberry from uncapping to finish. It's just a strawberry sugar bomb that's not unpleasant, just not suited for 750ml quantities.

Pour is a murky copper with some ruby edges and a tight tan head. Nose is earthy up front, root notes, strong strawberry fruit rollup comes in behind. Taste is more clean strawberry jam with a faint earthiness to balance. Really soft body and fairly assertive carbonation with a semi dry finish. A hint if tartness in back as the bright strawberry jam lingers.
