Shared this bottle with a friend, poured into two snifter glasses. No head appeared while pouring. Appearence was that of cloudy orangish-red, it was like looking at strawberry jam.

Aroma was very pleasant, it was like smelling a jar of strawberry preserves. It was a fruity strawberry aroma, no aroma of rhubarb noted.

Upon first sip instantly tasted strawberries, in fact it tasted like strawberry jam! It is sweet but not cloying in any way. Just perfect. The tartness contributed by the rhubarb is there. Unfortunately I had a cough the last three days therefore the tartness of the beer almost felt abrasive on my throat. I'll be trying the beer again once I fully recover to see how the tartness stands out. The tartness and sweetness seems well balanced. The beer has a light bodied and fizzy mouthfeel - almost along the lines of drinking a mimosa.

Overall this is a good beer. Not too sweet and easily drinkable. Right now I'm somewhere on the fence with the tartness. While it's certainly tart, I'm just not sure how like it, seemed a little bit abrasive. However this could be bias due to my cough. I look forward to trying this again.

Poured from a waxed 750 ml bottle into a tall New Glarus Signature Pilsner Glass.

Appearance: Pours a deep copper amber with a lot of rising bubbles. Big three finger off white head that slowly recedes into a thinner creamy layer. Leaves a lot of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A very fruity and jammy aroma with lots of strawberry rhubarb esters. Literally smells like a mix of fresh squeezed strawberry juice and rhubarb pie with lots of fruit scents upfront. Fairly jam like scent as well. Light hints of apple and cherry in the mix. Fruit aroma is sweet and fairly tart. Subtle pale malt presence with a hint of biscuit and yeast. Aroma is fairly straight forward but very good.

Taste: As good and fruity as it smells, huge taste of strawberries throughout. Strawberry fruit juice and pie like rhubarb flavors are the dominant notes. Fruit flavor is sweet but not excessively syrupy. Nicely tart with a decent bitter balance. Jam like notes with some sugar. Also some subtle fruit notes of cherry and apple behind the strawberry. Background notes of soft pale malt with some biscuit and yeast. A very good fruit beer taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Sweet, creamy, and somewhat syrupy. Very juicy and smooth.

Overall: Another great fruit beer from New Glarus. Great strawberry fruit flavor with a good balance of sweetness and tartness.

75cl bottle shared by Benish today, 8/1/2013. Poured into a Russian River -tion glass.

This beer looks to be a very well carbonated, bubbly brownish-amber body with a solid 1cm white head, very bubbly and leaves a good bit of lacing out there. Very effervescent beer.

Sniffing it makes me think of strawberry preserves with a little bit of tart earthiness which I'm assuming is from the rhubarb. But its strawberry preserves or jam, straight up in the nose. Very nice nose and smells incredibly sweet and refreshing.

Drinking this beer is a pleasure- tons and tons of sweet strawberry jam that is balanced out a little bit by an earthy yet light tartness. It's not particularly complex though, but it really delivers in the strawberry department. I love strawberries so I really enjoy it.

The body of this beer is light bodied, maybe a bit on the thicker side. It's very, very well carbonated and refreshing. There is a bit of an odd tart aftertaste on the back of my throat that I can't quite describe but it takes a little bit away from the beer I thought. I want that tart aftertaste on my palate, not in the back of my throat. Still, it's easily drinkable and refreshing.

Overall, I put this up as an equal to Serendipity, which is above Raspberry Tart and below Belgian Red which is still king in my book. New Glarus produces probably the best non-sour fruit beers in the country so this follows in the same tradition of the others. Delicious, refreshing brew for sure. Recommend trying this at least once.

Appearance: Pours with a large luscious head. Murky, brownish ruby red color to this brew. Above average active carbonation with plenty of thick lacing left on the sides of the glass.

Smell: A wonderfully rounded bright strawberry aroma hits the nose right away. The rhubarb adds some subtle bittering accents which add quite a bit of complexity. Taken all together, this aroma comes off quite a bit like the Raspberry Tart also from New Glarus with just a little less tartness.

Taste: A highly carbonated tart rhubarb feeling is the first to arrive on the scene. That is quickly washed away by an overpowering strawberry sugary feeling which just takes over the palate. Waves and waves of strawberries keep coming, so fresh and clean. My only gripe is that the rhubarb is not nearly as much of a player as I hoped it would be. The finish is light and refreshing. Simply what a fruit beer should be.

Mouthfeel: Sweet, crisp, with some very slight dryness that I imagine is from the rhubarb.

Overall: Of course I had high expectations from this brew and it did not disappoint. Like I said above, this beer feels a little off balance in the strawberry to rhubarb ratio. The fruit accents are incredibly bright and vibrant, like no other fruit beer in the business.

A: A strange dark gold. Not at all red, at least in my pour. Decent head and fantastic dark gold color there too.

S: Amazing. Phenomenal smell of fresh strawberry jam or strawberry gelatin pie.

T: Not much bitterness/tartness, which is what I dislike about fruit beers. Its a nice straight strawberry forward taste with a rhubarb finish. Not much more, not much less, just wonderfully simple. Lingering sourness in the mouth.

M: Pretty straight mouthfeel, not too much carbonation.

O: An amazing fruit beer, surprising me as someone who isn't normally a fan.

Pours a nice light red strawberry red. The nose on this beer is amazing! Like fresh pressed strawbeery jam, sweet and sugary. This one starts of with a nice quick tart punch from the rhubarb, fallowed by the sweet juicy strawberries. The flavors compliment eachother amazingly. Almost like drinking a strawberry fruit roll up! Has a slighly filling mouth feel, def one to share with your lady friend! Overall another fruit beer homerun from New Glarus!

This pours a reddish amber color with a fluffy cream colored head. There is a very strong aroma of strawberries. The taste is a sweet clash of strawberries and rhubarb. It basically reminded me of a strawberry fruit roll-up from when I was a kid only in a beer form. I don’t see this having quite the hype as Belgian Red, Raspberry Tart, or Serendipity but its still quite good.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a tulip.

Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a 2 finger cream head. Thick ring of lacing and trails.

Has a vegetal and somewhat medicinal aroma with a nice strawberry accent.

Sweet honey, sugar, some tartness I am guessing from the rhubarb? And very nice strawberry flavor.

Another amazing fruit beer from NG. Has some tartness and rhubarb, vegetal notes as well as a nice amount of strawberry.
