Pours a murkey brown color with a small light tan head. In the aroma, faint hints of sweet, chocolate malt. In the taste, thin hints of a small roasty, chocolate malt. A smooth and thin mouthfeel, with a small chocolate malt aftertaste. Quite thin, not much in body or flavor.

Appearance - the beer arrived with a scant collar and all too soon was a bare, naked brew. I didn't think I should be able to see through an oatmeal stout, but this was a dark caramel red.
Aroma - a trace of roasted grain at first, and then fading to a next-to-nothing nose.
Taste - slight roasted grains which are nice enough, but the sweetness is akin to a milk stout sweetness. The flavor has a molasses base to it, and little if any hop balance on the swallow. The finish is a mild roastiness, not bad but not great.
Mouthfeel - if nothing else, the oatmeal stout should have a soft smoothness to it. This one does not. In fact, I can't detect oatmeal at all. Mildly crisp carbonation and a 'lightweight' in body, for the style.
Drinkability - not a terrible beer, but really not an oatmeal stout in my book. Closer to a nut brown ale I'd think.
