Wow a brew pub that is located in an old building that once held a old type buisness. Sorry, it just seems this is the plan for many brew pubs. This place is located just blocks from Lake Michigan and draws many tourists in the area. Slightly above average food quality and just average beer. I think they had about 6 beers on tap when I was there. Nothing outstanding but a decent place to stop for something to eat and drink if you are close by. This is a restaurant first and brewry second in my opinion.

I was really surprised at how nice this place is. The food is excellent, the service was great and the smokey porter was perfect. My steelhead fishing trips will never be the same!

We were on vacation in Ludington last week and stopped in here four times! I like the atmosphere of the place, the bar more so than than the dining room. It's in an old building like I think a brewpub should be.

I think I had almost all of their beers during our visits, by far the best one was the smoked porter. It smelled just like Schenkerla! Took me back to Bamberg. The Alt and the IPA were also good, I found the Kolsch to be a bit lacking. The other beers were all decent but nothing outstanding.

When I go to Michigan, I love to eat Lake Perch since I can't get it in St.Louis. Jamesport's was very good with a decent portion and excellent tarter sauce.

This place is worth a visit if you're in the area.

Nice bar area with a decent number of tv's. Dining area was small, but comfortable.

Had about 10 beers on tap. I tried the IPA, Nitro Stout, and Raspberry Weiss. I would say that all were slightly above average.

We started in the bar area for happy hour, then moved to the dining area for dinner. Both servers were friendly and fairly knowledgeable about their beer.

All the food we ordered was good, with the lake perch being very good.

Overall, a really good place to check out if you are on vacation in this part of Michigan.

This is a small brewpub/restaurant in the touristy town of Ludington, MI (all the other patrons appeared to be out-of-towners as well). We sat outside on the patio that somewhat overlooked the harbor (it wasn't ON the harbor but close enough to see it). The bar looked very nice too. The beer here was ok - there were maybe 6 taps and most of them were your basic styles. The food was decent (I got a cherry pecan salad) but there is an extensive menu. Overall, it was a nice place to chill with a pint and some food.

Stopped here after hearing from some grand rapids locals that it existed. My fiance and I had a few of their beers and lunch.

The beers were great, not to hopy which one may or may not like. I had their hefeweizen, which had a nice balance of sweet and malt with that great golden wheat color. My fiance had a blueberry beer which teased the tongue with a subtle hint of blueberry. The food matched the beers in great taste. They have a build your own burger option, so I had a burger with their porter glaze, pepper jack cheese and jalapenos. Delicious. The Fiance had blackened perch on foccacia which was great then and leftover.

After enjoying the beers, we headed a couple blocks away to the city park and had a beautiful nap on the beach.

I would definitely recommend going if you are in the area!

after thought- I graded the service low, because I think our server was new. She was slow. But A different server handling the tables around us was definitely on point.

We had a beautiful day of disc golf on Beauty and the Beast and followed it up with a much anticipated trip to Jamesport. It turned out to be the perfect bookend on a great day.

We descended with a discriminative group of four. Each had his own beer, and each had nothing but positive remarks about his chosen beverage. I had the Scottish Strong Ale, which I retried for 3 pints, before I eventually called upon an IPA from our diligent server. I was quite taken by the smootheness and the ease at which these beers went down the pipe.

For dinner I ordered a burger that was supposedly soaked or spattered with stout. At times I could taste a hoppy, herbal component to said burger and it was a nice chunk of meat with bacon and cheese sans the mushroooms that were slated to accompany the feast. One half pound of delicious. It was a very good burger and reasonably priced. The crew also took turns ripping at a loaf of garlic bread that came with a delightful dipping sauce of funky cheese and marinara. It was pretty much dope. Plus they served little garden peppers that were phenomenal and our server was gracious enough to bring us another helping of them upon request, so the service was of course good.

Prices were straight. I have seen worse, and overall I thought this place was right on par with the usual places I haunt that have less fabulous beers to offer with my feast. I rolled out with a growler and a shirt because it was just that damn good. The drinkability of these brews was really good and quite unexpectedly so. If you happen to roll through the area, you would be well served to stop into this brew pub. We even had a run in with the brew master as he ambled through the bar in his boots and he seemed happy to stop and chat us up, despite the fact that he was obviously busy. I was far from disappointed and sitting smack dab atop pleased as punch. Great Job!

located in the port town of ludington in michigan on the coast of lake michigan. the town is surounded by massive sand dunes and has many miles of sand beaches. the brewery is downtown in a brick building about a block from the port. the brew pub has a nice pub with a large bar and a few tables, but the dinning room has many more tables, then there is a deck that over looks a section of the port (deck has removable walls and is heated). the brewery is in the basement there is a multi-level basement with a copper clad 3.5 bbl system and three fermenters, a good sized cooler filled with serving tanks and kegs. got a tour of the brewery and a taste of the brewers cherry mead.

the beer is great on style we did the fight which is five 5oz glasses of different beer. was served kolsh, english mild, alt, esb, dry stout. all the beers were great but the stout was killer. food is excellent.

service was excellent, filled my growler, gave me a tour. excellent, inviting.

good selection of beer ten taps (1 was empty apricot wheat) hefeweizen, scotchish, porter, ipa, apa. plus a guest tap of cider.

food was very great and cheap at lunch. i got a brat with slaw and wedge style spiced fries for $6.99 and my girlfriend got a cup of killer beer cheese chedder soup and half of a turkey sandwich for $4.99 with our drinks ($5) and tip we spent $25 and had a very fun trip into the city from the state park.

Located in an old brick building in Ludington, this place was redone beautifully with a seperate dining room and bar room. They were pouring 11 beers on my last visit anything from an Apricot Wheat to an ESB to a Scottish Strong. Great Variety. The beers were available as a sampler, to try 11, you pretty much need this. They serve some very unique food, deep fried ravioli and onion rings stuffed with crabmeat, both recommended. Food was pricey. Great place to stop if you are waiting for the Lake Michigan Ferry or if youre in town.

Jamesport is in a cool building with lots of nooks and crannies and really high ceilings.
The beer was of excellent brewpub quality. They had an alt and a dortmunder on, both of which were very nice, especially the dort.
Service was prompt, but I virtually had to beg to know which of their seasonals was on tap. A chalkboard or something would be very helpful at a place like this.
Selection was really good, solid English and German style beers.
Food was very good, particularly the fish, albeit a bit pricey. I mean, they're on the friggin lake, fish should be more reasonably priced.
Beer was a great value, food was a bit higher than reasonable. But maybe I'm just a cheapass.

This was a great brewpub visit in a very picturesque town, Ludington, Michigan. It's an old logging/shipping town with a lot of history. If you visit Ludington, be sure and spend some time along the waterfront. There's a lot of interesting sights. The brewpub is in a building in the restored part of town. I understand the building is some 140 years old. It really gives you the feeling of stepping back in time. Not seeing the IPA on the menu, I ordered the sampler followed by an English bitter. Very tasty. At the suggestion of another patron, I ordered the fish of the day for dinner (sorry, I don't recall what kind, maybe perch), which was cooked perfect and was absolutely delicious. They also had some guest taps at the bar which included Founders pale ale. This is a great place. I picked up a t-shirt to commemorate the event.

They don't always have the greatest selection available at all times, but what's on tap is generally pretty good and certainly the best the area has to offer. Very cool atmosphere with a nice deck in the back which is only a couple blocks away from the lake and really is a fun time. The bar area is very cool and you can walk down and see a small part of their brewing area. I just recently went for the second time on our yearly camping trip to Ludington and it really cemented itself as a place you "have to go to" if you ever find yourself in the area.
