Deep orange color with a foamy white lace sitting under a hoppy spicy sweet aroma. The bitterness really comes out in the flavor along with an obvious grapefruit character. A smooth decently heavy body supports a bold malt backup with a strong coffee finish. Very complex and tasty.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear 'iced tea' copper. It's off-white head barely even shows up, and completely disappears after a few minutes, never to be seen again.

Smell: The aroma is quite faint, with a fake sugary sweetness. A bit of caramelly malt is present, along with a bit of generic hops.

Taste: Starts out sweet, then balances out midway with a touch of hops. There's a bit of caramelly malt, but not much else. Finishes with a bready character. Not complex or hoppy at all...

Mouthfeel: Somewhat thin in body, with a hint of dryness. It needs some more residual sugars to beef up the body. Finishes crisp and clean.

Drinkability: While this isn't a bad beer, it is NOWHERE NEAR being anything that can be called an Imperial Pale Ale. It's around 30 IBU's, which is about half of what it should be. Overall, it's drinkable, but unspectacular.
