Big thanks to the ratebeer (yes and BA too) Boise crew for this bomber. It pours sort of ruby with copper hues and white head. The aroma has fruity esters mixing with wheat as well as a wine barrel like sense to it. barrel aged? The taste confirms as modestly tart and sour wine barrel notes start things off. Behind these notes are some sweet wheat malts mixing with tart tangerine like citrus hops and spicy hops. Interesting. It seems somewhat like Alesmith’s 2008 Decadence. I don’t know the vintage of the current bottle. It’s pretty good.

Served in snifter at Portsmouth Brewery.
Appearance: This beer poured a small head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a murky reddish brown with bubbles coming up the side of the glass.
Smell: Bready, caramel, toffee, spicy, bananas, and clove.
Taste: Caramel and toffee delight. Spicy, yeasty, bready, bananas, and a little alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Creamy smooth, medium bodied, warming alcohol, low to medium carbonation, and it got better as it warmed up.
Overall: Pretty solid wheatwine from Smutty's sister brewery.
Serving type: on-tap
