Notes/Commercial Description:
A German style wheat ale, mit hefe (with yeast). This cloudy, classic is light in body yet big in flavor. Lots of clove & a bit of banana make a big aromatic presence.

It's been a while since I had a really good hefe. Everyone's making one now. Tod Makes his better. I think it's called caring and having taste.

64oz brown growler. Filled today at the release of KTG. Seriously, no need for a random time like 2:27pm. No need for this kind of hoopla on a Tuesday. I took the day of for this sh!te. No need what so ever. 6 Hours later in a pint glass (one of those new Sam Adams glasses).

A hazy orange-gold beer pours out with a thin head that fades in a few minutes. Sticks to the sides and leaves a visible trail of suds.

Huge banana with a nice and very inviting citrus aroma in the background. There is a slight hint of yeastiness in overall smell but it's very subtle.

Huge banana-nana-nana with a nice mild citrus and some spice that really helps keep the beer grounded. Otherwise you'd loose bready and malty (wheat) undertones that linger in the mouth after every mouthful.

Feel like a decent mouthful without being either to thin or heavy. This beer is quiet complex enough without the fact that it feels good in your mouth as it slides down into the throat. It's a great hefe to drink in this New England humidity. it's cooling off but it was hot. This beer is also quiet refreshing. Bonus.

O yeah, back porch with a growler after a nice summer day, after a long day in the heat, just needing a good one, this beer is incredibly easy to drink.

Awesome!

22oz bomber bottle poured into a Deschutes snifter. No bottle date or ABV is listed here. Bottle purchased at the brewpub on 9/4/11.

A: Pours a really nice light orange color. Finger and a half bright white head. Carbonation is awesome, bottle conditioning? Some faint lacing.

S: Spicy notes. Belgian yeasty smells. Breadiness.

T: Solid Hefe/Witbier character. You get a nice spice note on the tip of the tongue: coriander and orange peel? Definitely yeasty character too.

M: Light to medium bodied. More light though. Good summer brew.

O: B+ beer for me. Not a style that I usually reach for, but really enjoyed it. Really solid food beer. Enjoyed with sushi.

Poured on-tap at the Portsmouth Brewery and served in a weisse glass. The beer is a light, bright, pale yellow, and the unfiltered nature makes this brew almost opaque. No head to speak of on this one. There are very light aromas of lemon and bubblegum. Interesting. There is a decent cling along the glass while you drink. Flavors are sweet, with the bubblegum characteristic once again, as well as a basil and oregano spicing at the end of the palate. The aftertaste is mostly spice, with a dry, rough finish.

Poured into a weizen glass at the brew pub. Pours a cloudy straw color with a finger of creamy white head.

This one smells like bananas. Tough to notice anything else but it does have a faint toasty aroma lingering. More of a grainy flavor on this one. Kind of fruity still but it has a nice light toasty flavor and a little bit of spice.

Good feel. Light bodied and soft carbonation. Pretty ejoyable beer. A little fruity but still a nice lower abv offering.

A - Golden colored beer with a moderate white head that left some decent stick on the sides.

S - Banana and clove, with a little bit of bubblegum. Some decent yeast, smells like a pretty good hefeweizen.

T - A lot of banana, with some yeast and clove. Pretty sweet, little bit of spice on the finish. Slight bit of citrus, good take on the style, and one of the best Portsmouth beers I've tasted.

M - Lighter side of medium bodied, with some present carbonation.

O - Good beer, good take on the style. Not a fan of portsmouth, but this is probably the best one I've had.
