A German style wheat ale, mit hefe (with yeast). This cloudy, classic is light in body yet big in flavor. Lots of clove & a bit of banana make a big aromatic presence.

I had a pint at the brewery itself, and we took home a growler, which we have just opened and are now drinking, about five days later.
This beer is a golden orange hue, with just a little lacing and not much head or carbonation, although the draught version had considerably more of both. The smell is sweet in a floral way; in addition to malt and a little of the grain, the odour is of honeysuckle, clover and ripe bananas.
The creamy, lush, long-lasting mouthfeel of this beer is truly the highlight for me. Perhaps it is my great love of hefeweizens, but to me, this beer is a bit like a creme brulee in texture and in certain aspects of its flavour.
The hops taste is not terribly present; in the growler version, there is a hint of spice at the very end of the sip until the beer has had a chance to warm up a little. Unfortunately, it is not the most refined of hop flavours and may even be just a little funky.
The sweetness in the taste is extremely present: it comes across as clementine, lavender-infused syrup, vanilla, a little hazelnut, pineapple, and a whole boat-load of bananas.

Bottle brought home and poured into a weizen glass. The appearance was a soft semi-cloudy pale yellow/orange color with a two finger white foamy head. Stringy sliding lace. The aroma bled of sweet wheat malt, nice balance of clove, light bubblegum and normal amount of banana esters. The flavor blended the sweet to the spice exactly the way I wanted and expected it to be with a shining example of the expected sweet wheaty bite just nipping the tail of the aftertaste and giving off that quick wheaty sweet to spicy clove of a finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Fairly low yet acceptable carbonation. ABV felt great as projected by the brewer. Overall, for the style and since this was consumed in a weizen glass, I say yes and a half to this. Probably one of the best brewed true to style hefeweizens by an American brewer.

Bottle from the brewery store.
Hazy light straw color with a frothy bubbly white head that persists forever. Light banana and clove with a bit of malty sweetness and hints of earthy spice and yeasty flavors. Lightly tart, not half bad.
