Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Chat Noir is French for Black Cat, and the style is the same noted, yet it is a Belgian style stout. Smooth mouthfeel, owing to yeast. Some Candi, chocolate malt. Very good drinkability. Dark brown coloured. Worth a try.

Thanks to ajcormier for this one.
Pitch black, an aggressive pour yields 1 scant finger of khaki head.
Tons of roasted malt, slight caramel sweetness. Some acidity and astringency. Just a touch of alcohol heat on the nose (bottle did not label ABV but I see now it is only 5.5).
More of the aroma but it is very densely flavored. When I worked with a sommelier he used the term "concentration". This beer has a very good concentration of flavor.
Decent carbonation with a full mouthfeel.
Overall this is not quite as dry as some other Irish Dry Stouts I have had (perhaps this comes from the very full body) but it is a great beer.
