Served in a tulip type glass on tap without raspberry syrup

A: Straw colored yellow like the sun reflecting off pollen in the warm spring air around dusk. Adorned with a small fizzy white head that dissipates quickly.

S: Smells of lemon and kaffir lime leaves along with the classic wheat tart note, a bit musty but sharp and crisp.

T: Tastes wonderfully crisp and perfectly refreshing. Lemon and wheat notes with light yeast traces. Puckering tart, but not quite sour. Hits you right in the corner of your jaw. Completely thirst quenching.

M: High carbonation leaves your palate sparkling but low density lets the beer finish clean and light. very low residual dextrines exist so the mouth feel is perfectly light and bright.

O: One of the most perfect beers for a hot July afternoon of work. It's thirst quenching, wicked session able and fantastically delicious. It's honestly one of my top 5 Portsmouth Brewery beers ever... literally beautiful.

22 oz bottle was poured into a large tulip glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a two finger head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a cloudy golden yellow with no clarity, but bubbles can be seen coming up the glass.

Smell: bready, tart, sour, sweet, a little fruity, and funky.

Taste: Everything mentioned above blended well together. Fruitiness is most likely on the lemon and lime flavors. Interesting.

Mouthfeel: Chewy, puckering, sour, acidic, tart, light to medium bodied, refreshing, and medium to high carbonation.

Overall: These are becoming a more enjoyable style to enjoy during the summer months. Need to find more breweries in NE that make this style. This beer rocks too.

Bomber from last years release poured into a matching portsmouth snifter. The brew appears a clear golden yellow color with a rich white froth about 2 fingers strong that slowly fade supported by rising bubbles of carbonation. Pretty solid look for the style with surprising retaining powers.

The smell is lemony lactic with some funky almost barnyard like notes. Is there also brett in this? A little bit of straw grainy inclusion. When swirled, a little cheese and sulfur emits from the glass but overall this is an enjoyable smelling berliner with the expected charcteristics.

The flavor has a lemony tartness almost like sweet tart candy that quickly fades to a cereal sort of wheat and grain sweetness. It is quite fresh tasting. As it warms up, it has almost a cracker-like quality about it that is a little dusty. More sips reveal a bit of carbonic to seltzer or asprin character that slightly distracts from what I expect in a top notch berliner. Regardless, I am nitpicking at this point and it is overall very good.

This is light bodied, effervescently carbonated and downright crushable as far as it's drinkability goes. This is upper-tier as far as I am concerned for the berliner style. It far surpasses many of the domestic berliners I have had in the past year or more. My only gripe is if that carbonic quality would not be present this would be a stellar offering. Other than that, awesome and a must-try. I hate the fact that this was so limited and I had to give up a kidney for it, but I have no regrets and wish I could get more.

Poured into a tulip. This pours a hazy pale yellow with a finger of white head.

The aroma is mostly tart lemon with hints of cellar mustiness. Pretty enjoyable. The pallet mirrors the aroma nicely. Light and cleans tart lemon flavors with a bit of bitterness in the finish.

The body is light with good carbonation. Overall this is pretty well done. Nice and low abv so ts easy to kick back with a few.
