Stopped into the Brewery today for lunch with Alewife and my daughters. Had a Bock to start, then an Old Stubfoot as round two. Received a shaker pint for $5.00.

Looked a rather murky, muddy brown, though when held up to sunlight and backlit, lots of garnet was evident. Couldn't see much carbo, and the head was a minimal ring of tan bubbles, with a bit of lacing. Nose had some caramel and a hint of brown sugar. Body was decent, medium all the way, and it was nice on the tongue.

Flavor had a bit of sweetness, too, with caramel, toffee, more brown sugar and a smidge of molasses. Reminds me a bit of Old Peculier with its malty sweetness. At the finish I found some earthy hopping, though not much. This is a hearty, malty bier, and quite nice overall. Alewife and Caitlin both quaffed this one and also enjoyed it. Prosit!!

Bottle from the brewery shop.
Pours a lightly hazy dark reddish brown with a smallish off white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of brown sugar, caramel, molasses, a hint of chocolate, cherries and plums with a touch of ethanol and earthy hops. The flavor is sweet with dark sugars up front followed by some of the dark pitted fruits. Orange zest and a hint of earthy hops flavor midway through give way to a touch of alcohol and a lingering dark chocolate and caramel malty finish. medium to thick body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet sugary mouthfeel. This is a pretty nice old ale, I enjoyed it.

Thanks Kegatron for sharing this with me. Bomber poured into a snifter. The brew appears a clear dark mahogany with khaki colored head. The topping fades to a thin ring. A swirl revives a finger back to the surface.

The aroma contains plenty of dark fruity sugars and malt that comes across like caramel and raisons with a solid bready grain character.

The taste is fruity like raisins before having a really fresh bready to biscuit grain flavor. Plenty of hoppy bitterness to balance with more of a burnt sugar to molasses thing going on with other sips.

This is a medium bodied brew with a moderate amount of carbonation. A really balanced, fresh and enjoyable offering that id certainly drink again. Thank you for sharing Heath, this was pretty darn good.
