Found this one all by its lonesome in the clearance / misfit odds and ends section of my local store. I love having hit-or-miss adventures at reasonable prices!
Pours out from the brightly colored can a hazed golden yellow sun color with a briefly-lived poofy three finger head that fizzles out with no lace left behind.
Smells of light orange peel, cardamom sprinkles, white pepper dust, gentle wheat malt, in other words, exactly as advertised on the can.
Taste is more cinnamon than cardamom, although both are present in medium to heavy amounts. Orange peel is present a bit heavier than in the nose, wheat malt sometimes comes across as a bit too skimpy, sweetness is rather dry but at the proper level given the amount of spicing present.
Body is just fine but than again nothing in particular is standing out about it either.

Overall, a pretty average summer wheat, nothing outstanding nor fatally flawed here.

Summer Wit pours cloudy with a light golden straw color true to style. A thick white head quickly forms and recedes slowly. The nose receives a wide array of aromas including white peppercorn, clove, lemon zest, coriander, orange peel, bubblegum, lemongrass, and a faint citrus hop presence. Bitter zest dominates on the palate from beginning to finish. Mid-palate is greeted with sweet malt and citrus juice notes, which are kept in check by the zesty notes. The wheat sweetness fades in the finish with the entrance of clove and coriander spices and a delicate floral note. The pleasant finish is dry and quite long.

I thought this was a little better than most reviewers give credit for, not world class, but not bad at all as a summer refresher, and certainly within the stylistic realm of a wit. Pours slightly hazy, golden in color perhaps a bit darker than the average wit, and with a decent white head. Smells yeasty, with some orange citrus and slight metallic notes. The taste is nicely balanced- sweet with orange and tangerine notes that are pleasant, and with a nice touch of coriander. Just enough tartness to handle the sweet fruit. The mouthfeel is fairly soft, but there is enough of a snap at the end to still make this refreshing. The tangerine notes here make this beer worth drinking for me, and just a tad different from the usual wit- not always a bad thing.

Picked this up in Springfield, MO

Pours a slightly hazed gold color with 2 fingers of billowy beige head. Good head retention & lacing

S: Grainy & grassy, faint cloves

T: Grassy with lemon, coriander & cloves up front. Slight yeastiness as this warms, faint orange peel notes, even some metallic notes. Finishes with faint banana taffy notes & not much else

MF: Light bodied with somewhat prickly carbonation, thins out even more when warm

My first beer from this brewery, not too impressed. Just a mediocre wit

12 fl oz. can, with no apparent freshness date present, although I assume it is a summer 2012 release. Seems to be a fairly unknown beer at this point, with only 31 ratings as of this writing. Witbier, not my favorite, but we'll see what happens. Intriguing artwork on the can, at the very least.

Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.

A - Pours a murky cloudy lemon color with about two fingers of bubbly eggshell white head. Slight half ring of lacing.

S - Fruity, spicy orange. Freshly squeezed lemon. Sugary iced tea. Some coriander, lavender, and other floral aspects. Smells like a spring flower.

T - Smells like a lot of fruity / floral spring and summer spices. Lemon, coriander, lavender, paired with a moderately carbonated malt backbone. Faint, muted grapefruit hops. I have to admit, I am highly impressed with the taste of this beer. Taste pairs accurately with the aroma.

M - Fruity, light bodied, floral, and malty. This beer is very well-rounded and palatable. Perfectly balanced, and perfect level of carbonation.

Overall, delicious, and highly drinkable even after sitting for a while, possibly one of my favorite witbiers yet. This is definitely a beer I will have to revisit soon. My first beer from Wild Onion Brewing Co., but I can guarantee you it won't be my last. Seems to be a fairly uncommon brew, but you should give it a shot if you manage to find it.

Wild Onion Brewing Summer Wit ---4/5.
