I found a bunch of these single 12oz cans in the discount bin at the Binny's store in Plainfield, IL for $1.29 each. I assume they were pulled from the shelves to clear out the summer beers and make room for the fall seasonals. There's a little blurb about the beer on the side of the can, but no freshness date.

The beer poured a cloudy pale yellow color and made a 1-finger white head that lasted a few minutes before dissipating altogether. Very little lacing.

This beer is brewed with orange peel and coriander and this is the main smell. Big orange aroma with spices underneath.

Oh, I don't like this at all. Spices dominate the taste. There's not even a trace of sweet maltiness in here, and the orange that was in the smell is nowhere to be found in the flavor. Heavy coriander and heavy white pepper would be welcome as an additive, but not as the main flavor. Just like salt and pepper are great additives to a good steak, you certainly wouldn't want to be served a plate of just salt and pepper. That's basically what you get here - a glass of liquid spice. There's no sweetness, no fruitiness, not even a trace of Belgian yeast. The wheat malt that is present is dry and so is the entire beer. Lingering mild hop bitterness in the finish and in the aftertaste.

Light and dry mouthfeel with medium high carbonation. Not refreshing at all.

Not sure where BA got the 5.0% abv figure from as there is no listing of it on the can itself and the brewery's own website lists it at just 4.4%.

12 oz. can poured into pint glass.

A: Pours cloudy light yellow with thick, pillowy, head. Good retention and lacing.

S: Smells a bit yeasty and spicy with light lemon overtones. Smells pretty good, actually.

T: Starts off pretty nice. Fresh lemon zest taste with the appropriate Belgian spices. Finishes with an astringent taste with some spice, though, which is nicht gut

M: A bit heavier than I like to see in a wit...not horrible, though.

O: The finish throws things off a bit. It's pretty average other than that, though.

A hazy yellowish body that is almost, but not quite, gold. Small white head faded fast, had Bice legs, but left no lacing.
Smells like wheat beer: some sweetness, spicy wheat, coriander, and oranges. No problems or issues here, just kind of standard fare.

The taste has some sweetness, some dry and grainy wheat, spices-- coriander and white pepper?, and mandarin oranges. Way too sweet on the finish. Cloying notes of mandarin oranges in syrup. Wow. It's too sweet to be refreshing, I feel like I need water.

The body is a little full, lots of carbonation, but a little too hefty-- it feels filling and thicker than it should.

Overall, not one I'll be likely to buy again. It doesn't meet the flavor and body requirements for me.

Figured I should drink my can before summer was over. It smells a bit like Victory's Whirlwind Wit, and at first, it tastes like a mild version of it. There's a very unpleasant astringent aftertaste, however, that will stop me from finishing this one. It's got the usual light, wheat bread with mild herbal spice, but the finish ruins this beer.

Very quick head after the pour and almost no foam after two sips. The bubbling is mediocre at best in this semi-hazey, golden brass colored Wit.

Good herbal aroma, but diluted grain and yeast aromas of powdered fruit, and simple cooking flour.

Powdery palate unfront with some herbal coriander help. The malt adds very light crackerflavor. The finish is juicey on the palate with halved malt and just a little more herbal flavoring.

Very sessionable, because the flavors and mouthfeel are simple and easy to forget or not notice at all.

12 oz can poured into a Duvel Green tulip.
"Malt beverage brewed with spices." No date or info on the can.

A - Swirled in the can and poured with any sediment, Summer Wit is a fully hazed-over wheat-and-lemon yellow that's generously topped by a thick head. Effervescent and fleeting, the foam leaves heavy collars of lace behind.

S - Loads of lemongrass citrus wafts from this wit. Complimentary soft wheat is also a strong presence while pale malt and Saaz-like hops finish out. A volatile latex glove-like aroma pokes out at first but thankfully subsides quickly. Faint hints of white pepper and coriander spice give it a touch of the spiciness I was looking for.

T - Almost like a mildly spiced American Pale Wheat Ale, it's heavy on the grainy pale malt and dry wheat with but a sprinkle of spice. No Belgian characteristics, missing a distinguishable yeast addition, low on spice. As a witbier, which it labels itself, it's not very good here. As an American Pale Wheat Ale (which it closely resembles), it's right on target.

M - The soft texture and smooth but well-carbonated finish has a small but well placed dryness and miniscule citrus splash.

O - If the can didn't label this a Belgian-Style White Ale, I'd easily buy that it's an American Pale Wheat Ale. It completely lacks Belgian characteristics and needs a healthier dose of coriander and lemon peel. Then again, that's assuming they're shooting for a contemporary witbier, not a traditional wit; never brewed with spices and the like. Either way, it's a pretty standard American version that would make for a great lawn-mower beer. I hate to give low scores to great, hard-working guys, but this beer needs some work to make the "wit" name stick. Either way, it's not a bad beer, it just doesn't fit the style it claims.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head. In the aroma, wheaty and orange citrus. In the taste, very wheaty, orange citrus and a spice bite of what seems to be cinnamon. A spice bite and medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a dry wheat and small spice in the aftertaste. Big orange citrus, nice spices, and still quite pedestrian.

Picked this up in Springfield, MO

Pours a slightly hazed gold color with 2 fingers of billowy beige head. Good head retention & lacing

S: Grainy & grassy, faint cloves

T: Grassy with lemon, coriander & cloves up front. Slight yeastiness as this warms, faint orange peel notes, even some metallic notes. Finishes with faint banana taffy notes & not much else

MF: Light bodied with somewhat prickly carbonation, thins out even more when warm

My first beer from this brewery, not too impressed. Just a mediocre wit
