Served in a tall pokal at the brewpub.
Not sure who this band is playing here tonight, but they're not half bad. The beer pours a hazy sunrise sienna topped by a finger of cream-khaki foam. The nose comprises rye bread, dark wheat, light fennel, and light buttery biscuit. The taste brings in more of the same, though everything comes across as watered-down, kinda bland. There's also a bit of grass tossed in, making things all the more vague-tasting. Definitely a let-down here. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a kinda grainy feel. Overall, a pretty meager dunkelweizen, frankly: Far too bland and grainy, with little German character whatsoever. Not a bad beer, necessarily, but not good.
