Chinwaggin' Irish Red tasted in a Teku glass from a growler on September 6, 2015. Look is clear amber, medium head that dissipates to a thin top, and some lingering lacing. Smell is light roasted nuts, subtle earthy hops with hints caramel and toffee malt. Taste is nutty, earthy with caramel and toffee notes. Feel is light in body with a creamy finish.

Served in a shaker pint glass at the brewpub.

Amidst a sea of Dragos, one must still try the Irish red, if for nothing else than the sake of discovery and adventure. What a weird fortune cookie... This stuff pours a clear russet-ruby topped by a finger or so of sandy off-tan foam. The nose comprises light toffee, light earthy hops, light wood, dark greens, and a touch of toasted biscuit. Everything is overtly light, as though things are actively eluding my 'strils. The taste brings in more of the same, with the toffee and earthy hops (now a bit spicier) coming through a bit more robustly. This is pretty much your prototypical Irish red taste, frankly. The body is a light medium, with a very light moderate carbonation and a pretty smooth feel. Overall, a fairly solid Irish red, but nothing that stands out from the pale too much, nothing to write home to Cork about...
