you can find this on tap throughout greater MTL. it's a very popular local beer in quebec, apparently. a lot of bars seem to carry them.
anyway, it's a decent golden ale that's pretty drinkable but unlikely to blow you away.
pours a clear straw yellow. small head on this one. smells of esters and some mild hops aroma. not a whole lot of flavor in this one, though. there's some faint estery flavor and a bit of hops, but not much else. not malty at all. medium to light body. a very simple beer. i prefer the other boreale products much much more.

Beer one from a huge Montreal beer haul!

Poured into a rounded lager glass. Medium golden, rapid carbonation leads to a 1/2 inch head that quickly dissolves to an almost inperceptible ring.

Nose is light malts and honey, nothing too powerful here.

Malts and honey, but with a hollow, over-carbonated finish. Slight lemon and hops here. Drinkable, certainly refreshing, but lacks character.

Spritzy carbonation, medium body, almost like a below-average Belgian Pale.

Nothing special, but certainly drinkable.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a slightly cloudy wheat/blonde color with a big fluffy head and it looks like a decent amount of carbonation. Nose is a bit yeasty with light malt and an almost Belgian nose on it.

Taste is somewhat bland, it finishes really quick and only the carbonation lingers. Theres a light toasty maltiness on the finish that's pretty decent but it still has a distinct quebec taste that almost all their beers have.

341ml bottle.
A- Tons of bubbles, all different sizes. So many bubbles you could almost say it's bubble hazed. Giant white head is melting in clumps and leaves nice strands of lacing. Already different from on-tap.
S- Citric honey countered by some soft cream and butterscotch. Still pretty different from on tap.
T- Like the smell. This bottled version is a lot less aggressive than on tap. Can't really say it's a more watery version of the tap but it really is a less potent one. Not sure why. Like the tap version the bitterness is kind of rough but it is not a problem.
M- Pretty full body. Close to high carbonation. Reasonably dry.
D- Very good. If this is the best I could get, I would drink a bunch.

It was ok on tap but this mellower version is a better drink. It's good beer but the dirty tastes are just too present. I love bitter but dirty chemical bitter is not my thing.

Gold colour beer with a small head that disapeasr too quickly for my own liking. Not as much character as the rousse but still enjoyable. Again a mass-marketed brew from Boreal that will not change your world and doesn't require you to spend too much drinking it

Pours light golden yellow, huge head and nice sticky and wet lacing.

Aroma reminds more of a german pils, very clean, light and malt oriented. Nothing off in the aroma, just that fresh grass and malt aroma. Hints of fruity esters and honey, but very low. Flavor is again, very german lager oriented, alot of soft delicate malt flavors, nothing cristal malt sweet like your tipical Amerian Pale neither anything astringent or coffee-like found in a darker beer. I'm guessing this is a very simple recipe : 2 row, a bit of 20 cristal, perhalps a little honey malt. Hop presence is mostly noticable in the bitter balance rather than any actual hop flavor, again like a european beer. Finished a little accrid to me.

Not a "all over the place flavor" beer, but still very good beer.

341ml bottle poured into a pint glass

Appearance - golden yellow, clear, average carbonation, nice big foamy/fizzy white head, some lacing.

Smell - breadiness, honey comb, grains, hops, honey comb cereal comes to mind...

Taste & Mouth - sweet notes, yeast and malts, nice dry refreshing finish

Drink - This is a great summer day session beer, definitely above average

Not a very impressive beer by my standards but it does have some minor character to keep it on the market.
This brew arrived a cloudy straw colour with a very short head, glass ring and some island lace.
The carbonation is less than medium and the body is a little short of being full.
The nose has a citruslike quality to it and roasted barley as well.
The taste is sweet to start, wondering where the citrus aroma came from? A little evidence of cascade hops to end.
Not a very well balanced blonde.

Poured a 341-ml bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance - firm yellow colour with thin lacey head. Bright carbonation, looks very active.

Smell - faint vanilla malty scent with some underlying corn. Not a lot going on.

Taste - the decent balance is what I notice first, a consistent, subtle flavour throughout tasting. Limited bitterness toward the end. Kind of watery overall.

Mouthfeel - this is a smooth beer, surprisingly so for the amount of carbonation noted. Not bad at all.

Drinkability - not horrible, but a lack of overall character holds this beer back. Not memorable enough to stand out.

Light amber and clear with a thin layer of bubbles in the head; leaves no lace.

Lacking any definitive smell. I'd describe it as more malt than hop, but still extremely mild.

Refreshing flavor of mostly lighter colored malts. Very low hop until the swallow--still pretty mild. The body is the best element of the beer--full with carbonation that is appropriate.

This would be decent in a pinch--closer to a micro than a macro.

My coworker gave me 1 bottle to give it a try because he didn t like it.
The smell is OK, nothing to special about it.
Lots of carbonation inside the glass with 1 finger of head.
Nice looking light beer inside the glas that u can see through.
the taste.... Nothing to special, when u drink it, it's alright. It's only at the end of the glass, that the beer taste actually better.
If you have the choice take a Boreale Red Ale or the IPA boreale is much much better
Or for a lower price you can get a Budweiser or Labbat 50 for almost the same style.
So would I recommend it ? Probably not. It's not that bad but, could be much better.
