This is my go-to beer when I travel through La belle province. I always have to remind myself that Boréale has slightly more alcohol, at 6.2%, than a typical session beer. The malt and hops are nicely balanced. It is quite delicious. Is it filtered? It is definitely on the hazy side. Head retention is good. Pick up a case the next time you are in Quebec. If you enjoy unpretentious IPAs, I think you will enjoy Boréale. By the way, it pairs magnificently with a sharp cheddar or earthy blue cheese.

Can from the Packie
Pours a lightly hazy light gold in color with a frothy off white head that persists. Pine resin and light pithy citrus with a solid bready toasty maltiness. Nice

From a 16 oz. can dated Aug 02 2020. Sampled Sept 11, 2020. Mine is called the Boreale IPA du Nord Est. maybe a slightly different brew.
Orange-amber pour with a quick lasting fizzy white head. Mostly opaque.
The aroma emits many tropical fruit and citrus characters with a hint of melon and a lower profile grain sensation.
The mouthfeel is medium and smooth with a kind of palate burning character.
Quick sweet taste quickly evolves into a biting tropical and fruity character with maybe some pepper spice to heat things up. Clean finish.

Pretty much meets the requirements for an IPA. Hazy gold colour body with medium lace. There's a lingering aroma I can't quite put my finger on but I'm not a fan of whatever it is - the closest I can come up with is malt vinegary. Malty and hoppy balanced off with a little citrus. Moderate bitterness and carbonation. Strange beer in the sense I don't like the smell but the taste is fine.
