I was first drawn to this beer by the fact it is an abbey ale from Belgium one of my favorite types of beer. I had to double check on the correct way to pour this beer since it is bottle conditioned and I think they have the instructions on this web site. bottom line leave the bottom of the bottle in the bottle it is yeast.
Back to the beer this is a unique smelling beer it took a few smells to pinpoint kinda reminds me of a barn, but the flavor which is smooth and green.

L- Pale straw with a slight haze. 1Cm fine-bubble white head.... [interupted]... that right then somehow survived 100% intact my being interupted for 10 minutes - very impressive.
S- It has a spiciness to it (reminds me of a wheat beer).
T- The thing that stands out for me is something akin to sour apple with an earthy tone to it in the middle+finish.
F- Quite bright, spicy. The overall Feel reminds me of a solid German Weiss-brau.
O- Nice but perhaps not distinctive enough to merit buying it again (mail-order) @ £2.39/330ml from BeersOfEurope (UK).

Pours a cloudy pale yellow color with stable, froth, white head.

Smells of wild honey, lavender, sour, slightly spicy yeast and some cardamom.

Has a sparkly, mineralic carbonation among a light body. This drinks very easy and is remarkably refreshing.

Tastes of mellow straw, dried garden herbs and a nice, light spiciness, due to the noteable yeast in this. Offers bread dough onwards from the middle part, becoming more spicy with black peppers, cardamom and a whiff of cinnamon. Finishes light and effervescent with a nice aqueous note, some maintaining spices and lots of dough.

An easy summer drinker with a great, well build spiciness.

I can't find my tasting notes, so I recommend words from the master.

MJ's "Great Beers of Belgium" gave this an unusually detailed review calling Stimuli "a heavy yeast sediment; a talc-like aroma; a dens, pillowy, head; sherbet on the tongue; and a palate that develops from peachy fruitiness to lemony, salty, hoppy, dryness."

Platinum with solid meringue head. 4
Field of summer flowers, pencil eraser, soft yellow apple, and mild wood spice - mouth-watering (though maybe a bit of fusels, too?). 4.25
Baguette, yellow pear, some rubbery phenols, lemon balm, and grassy finish. 4
Herbal end and numbing linger.
Light, fizzy, crisp. 4.25

Amazing nose for a humble pale ale. A balancing act between yeasty esters and phenols, not insignificant hopping, and a thread of malt. Carb places this squarely in summer. I wondered why a blonde would have a cult following but I get it now. How to do a top quality quencher. 4.25

Color light yellow, catching orange, clear. Head white, compact, perfectly leaves a mark on the glass. The aroma is a little poor, Belgian spices, orange, whit the basement. The taste is great, orange mixed with coriander, who feel alternately. The beer is very smooth and soft. Unimposing bitterness in the finish, which is associated with the peel of grapefruit and oranges. Saturation medium and alcohol undetectable. Very cool blond.

Hazy gold/orange. Fruity, sweet, a bit of banana, crisp smell. Tastes crisp, refreshing, a faint bit of yeast, but not much else.

330ml bottle at Café De Spuyt in Amsterdam (€4.00):
Very enjoyable from the start, really fresh and lively with a crisp and clean feel that helped it go down remarkably easy. The fruit flavours and touches of sweetness worked well together and the balance of the beer was excellent, this is definitely on that I wouldn't mind trying again.
