The beer was crystal clear pale golden with a white, frothy and long lasting head which laced the glass from top to bottom.
The aroma was sharp and spicy with a strong Saaz presnce. A very slight bit of menthol was also notable in the hop character.
The flavor was Saaz hop bittering and a flavor which were both pronounced and strong. The beer was fairly clean with a very slightly fruity character.
The finish was dry with a lasting light bittering into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a high carbonation level and which led to a creamy mouthfeel. A good beer, but unfiltered, no way.
Draft at Bruxellensis (9/9/06). Labeled as a Ongefiltered Pils.

On tap at the Old Station House in Chiswick, UK. Appearance is pale straw with no head at all, and very little carbonation apparent. The smell is floral hopps, with a nice malt note. This will turn out to be the beer's high point. The taste is bitter hops, citrus notes, and a very, very floral finish. The mouthfeel is watery and flat. Just awful, really. Drinkability is not good. It's just too floral. It's like drinking pot pouri. There are MUCH better pilsners out there. Give this one a miss unless you really just want to cross another one off your list.
