look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

Presentation: 12oz brown bottle. No freshness date.

Appearance: Somewhat cloudy golden / amber colored beer topped with a smooth, thick and creamy head. Retention is excellent as is the stick to the glass.

Smell: Ever so light diacetyl / caramel, soft apples, grass (phenolic) and notes of a broken green tree in the nose.

Taste: Rough mouthfeel, with apple-skin and a prickly carbonation. Palate creams up from the carbonation, smoothing things out a bit. Dusty malts, with a slightly fruity sweetness and underlying maltiness and some diacetyl way back in the end. Sharp-ish citric twang, light oils on the edges of the palate and a leafy roughness. Dry finish with more apple-skin in the feel, to the point of being a bit annoying.

Notes: Not a bad beer for a Ringwood brewed IPA. Oddly tasty with and old-world feel about it -- don't ask me why.

look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 3.5

Presentation: 12 oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Appearance: Very fine bubbly lace sticks all over the place. Clear and pale tawny color.

Smell: Faint citrus and grassy hop with hints of tobacco. Dusty diacetyl with some honey like sweetness from the malt.

Taste & Mouth Feel: Expressively smooth with a layered medium body. Pungent hops within the pale malt base, which gets lost though the diacetyl does as well. Hop bitterness lingers for a good while with mild citric and earthy tones.

Drinkability & Notes: An above par English style IPA. Middle of the pack from what I have experienced but good none the less.

A: Got a growler at the source in MIlford and poured it into a pint glass. Color is amber brown with a nice sticky 1-finger white head. A bit of lacing on the sides as the beer goes down, and a great clarity lend this beer some pretty good-looking bonafides.

S: A light and sweet nose that is fairly nondescript, with malted barley being the most dominant note. A touch of grassy hops on the end, but mostly it's a sweet malty smell with caramel, bread, and a touch of hay.

T: Pretty much tastes like it smells: malt-forward with a bit of dryness on the swallow. Notes of fresh-cut grass, wet basement, caramel malts are present in-mouth with a dry, hollow taste lingering after the swallow. I would compare it to a much more traditional English IPA than any big, bold American IPA. Akin to Davidson Brothers' offering.

M: Substantial enough without being overbearing in the mouth. The feel is a bit sticky, but fresh, and none-too-syrupy. Bone-dry afterfeel.

O: It's a decent offering from a nice local brewery. For an English-style IPA it's right on the mark, though it may not be what you expect.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Pours light gold, hazy, thick white foam. Heavy at times. Sticks everywhere=. Caramel malty nose with a grassy hint. Light malt taste, tiny hop bitter. Builds as the beer warms. Overall on the lighter side, but still tasty.
