A-Cloudy yellow, some carbonation, lots of sediment, three finger head that dissipates quickly.

S-Lots of grass and spice, some wheat as well, even some cherries...

T-Starts with grain/straw with grassy hops and spice, something is off though that I can not place.

M-Very light and very carbonated.

O-Something was off in the taste couldn't place it. And as the beer warms it loses what luster it had.

Had from a bottle at their brewery. Poured a pale yellow color with a small white head that mostly dissipated leaving minimal lacing. Aroma of grains, light citrus and earthy hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, though a bit more hoppy with a dry finish.

Mouthfeel is light and carbonation is moderate. Drinkable but not exceptional. Recommended for a sample or a pint to try.

A: Pours a nice golden color with a decent head with bits of lacing.

S: Mild aroma of malt sweetness, citrus and fresh grain.

T: Flavor is a mild caramel sweetness, bit of citrus and fresh grain. There is a nice mild bitterness and the finish is quite dry.

F: Light body, smooth with an intangible character.

O: Easy drinker. Good session beer.

Thanks to THECPJ for this bottle.

A: Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a massive white head, tok a while to pour the entire beer as the foam rose all the way to the top quickly. However, it reduced just as fast and there was nothing left on top and no lacing within moments.

S: Actually has a little funk to it, very surprising. A little bit of grains and a bit of citrus, but the funk dominates.

T: Again, slightly funky/sour. It dominates the flavor profile and I can't really get much else out of it.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Rather slick.

O: Very confusing with the funk/sourness. Can't really imagine why it smells and tastes like it does. I like it, but reviewing to style is what will keep it low.

First had: on tap at Cooperstown Brewing, Milford, NY

Pours straw-yellow with a little white head that dissipates rather quickly. Crisp, grainy aroma, and crisp, grainy taste, with light grassy hops following. Simple. Very light and crisp, not big on taste, but highly drinkable nonetheless. I could easily spend a summer night drinking this, but there's nothing amazing going on here.

A. Poured a clear copper, with a short one finger white diminishing head. No lacing on the glass.

S. Fruit, citrus, grain, cereal, hay

T. Starts out with some malty flavors, caramel, fruity, pears or apples, Cider-like. Light bitter finish.

M. Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation, short duration

D. A pretty decent golden ale, decent balance. The fruitiness of this brew makes it stand out and adds to its uniqueness.

12oz bottle from the mixed 12 pack. no freshness information anywhere. drank from a standard american pint glass. review from notes.

A- this one pours out a bright golden colored body with a small fizzy white head. the head fizzes away quickly and leaves behind little to no lacing.

S- grainy cereal malts. very little in the way of hops. theres really not too much to this one.

T- the taste is equally bland. grainy cereal malts reminiscent of "the big three" and a small amount of earthy hops.

M- light bodied. thin and watery. the carbonation level is way too high.

D- sessionable, but not interesting enough. pretty unremarkable.

Presentation: It was poured from a tap at the brewery into a small plastic tasting glass. This was part of the breweries tasting. I think it was two or three dollars to sample each of there seven beers.

Appearance: It is hard to say from the sample size but I would say that it would be very similar to the bottled version.

Smell: Here is where I started to notice some difference. The malt is still pale and light but the hops are fresher, brighter and bring more citrus notes to the nose.

Taste/Palate: Like the aroma, the hop flavor is fresher and more vibrant. The light pale maltiness is cleaner as well and I didn't notice any diacetyl notes. It is still light and fairly clean on the finish with just a little more citrus hop character. This is very refreshing, light bodied and easy drinking.

Notes: This is the way to drink a Nine Man!!! On Tap!!!

I actually enjoyed this beer a lot. The person at the bar didn't know what style it was, what the abv was, anything. I would have guessed a blonde or golden ale and I guess I was right. It was very sessionable and really quite enjoyable. Not much on the aroma, but the flavor was great, the drinkability and mouthfeel were also very good. Don't know how available this beer is but if you see it, it's a good one.

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber color with a soda pop head that fizzes away in about five seconds

Smell: Smells a bit like a combination of day old spilled beer and buttery toffee

Taste: Bready, up front, but with a growing butter toffee flavor from the diacetyl; after the swallow, there is a modest earthy hop presence that adds some balance

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body but way too fizzy

Drinkability: The poor carbonation quality ruined what would otherwise be an average, but drinkable, beer

Thanks, jjayjaye, for the opportunity

Poured into a pint glass. Pours with a thin head that is almost unmentionable, disappears completely. Has a nice golden color, with a tiny bit of light sediment.

Aroma is light and floral. Taste is mild and light, every flavor is faint: bitterness, hops, butter, fruit, maybe some malt. Carbonation is light, stays in your mouth a bit, which is strange, given the light flavors. The more i drink the weirder i think it is, I'd rather stop thinking about it and just take it at face value as an average light beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Pilsener glass.

A - Poured a hazy orange/amber color with a thick head of white foam. Lots of bubbles and decent lacing.

S - Fruity and slightly floral. Definite hints of butterscotch, I just wish it was a little stronger.

T - Buttery and slightly herbal. Hints of fruit and malt. Finishes off slightly dry with a tiny bit of bitterness.

MF&D - Medium/light bodied with a slight tongue sizzle. Crisp and easy drinking.

This is really not a very good beer. I don't say that because it's a lighter style. It's just not good.

Poured with a foamy head that immediately vanished. The beer was a light golden color with a touch of visible carbonation. No lacing at all.

Aroma was like a stick of butter. A sense a diacetyl bomb coming on.

Unfortunately, I was right. This is a butter nightmare. There is a slight grain flavor with little hop character and no finish. It's just the butter flavor that sticks with you.

Mouth feel of slick and oily. Also no finish....

Drain pour. Not worth 125 calories. Sorry.

Notes from web site: "Nine Man" is a golden ale, brewed from English pale and crystal malts, and with torrified wheat. It is bittered with Cascade and Cluster hops and finished with Cascade hops. "Nine Man Ale" was first brewed as a summer seasonal beer in 1996. It was kegged the first season but not bottled until the opening of the baseball season in April 1997. Original Gravity 1.045 / Final Gravity 1.012 /4.3% abv. Served at the Brewery.

A One inch head supported by a golden brown body. This is the lightest appearing of the Cooperstown beers.

S I smelled fruits but brewers present at the time denied that but did mention that there are "citrus" elements to the beer. I still believed that there was distinct sweetness of fruits. I really liked the smell. Not hoppy very much at all.

T More malt and hops to taste but I still get some of that light, fruity sweetness. I really enjoyed this beer.

M Light to moderate. None of the Cooperstown beers are really light but this is the lightest of the bunch.

D Fair to good.

Notes: I really enjoyed this mildly hoppy beer with a sweet citrus aroma.
