This beer pours a cola like brown color with a one finger, creamy, light mocha head. Retention is above average for the style and there is lots of spotted lacing left on the glass.

Smell is roasted malts and rich milk chocolate with a touch of caramel as well.

Taste is the same, but there is a bit of astringency on the finish that I'm not a huge fan of.

The feel is light and smooth with a touch of stickiness on the finish. Carbonation is on the low side of moderate.

Overall this is a decent beer, I just didn't care for the odd finish. If they were able to smooth out the weird bitterness this would be much better.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip style pint glass.

Pours a deep brown that darkens in the glass and is topped with two fingers of tight, khaki foam that holds some larger bubbles. The head is lasting and leaves decent lacing.

Fairly strong aromas of roasted malt, coffee, cola like caramel and a touch of vanilla make up a nose that well reflects the taste. There is some hop flavor that adds to the moderate roasty bitterness. The vanilla comes through in middle with a hit of sweetness before a crisp bitter finish. It is a touch watery and the body is to the low side of medium. Smooth and easy drinking, especially warm as I found out drinking one at about 70 degrees.

A decent and straight forward English Porter if a bit thin.

No bottling date that I can find. Picked up at the brewery just last week though.

A: Pours a dark brown/almost black. Mid-sized fizzy light brown head. No head retention or lacing at all.

S: Sweet caramel and chocolate with just a hint of roastiness.

T: More of the same. Very mild and quite sweet. Light roast and some vanilla, caramel and chocolate sweetness. Finish has the lightest hint of coffee and bittersweet chocolate.

M: Medium bodied, fairly smooth.

O: Not bad. Pretty standard light english porter. Much better than the pale varieties from Cooperstown.
