From a 500ml green bottle with no dating
Served in a New Belgium globe glass

Clear, golden colored beer with about 2 fingers of white head. Lacing was good on the glass.

Aroma was crisp, of light, bready malts and soft hops. Not very complex, but nothing offensive.

Taste follows the aromas, with a light, floral hop bitterness balanced with a little malt sweetness. Nice clean feel. Light body and a high level of carbonation.

Nice, easy drinking lager. It's not going to blow you away, but it is a good refreshing beer.

Presentation: 500 ml green slender Euro style bottle, no freshness date.

Appearance: Nearly clear, dusty gold colour with a thin yet sticky white lace.

Smell: Apple and lemon zest in the aroma, sweet to the nose with a pale grainy malt and a light herbal hops.

Taste: Smooth and full in the mouth feel with a light crispness, medium bodied. Right away is an imported lager flavour of slight aged or cooked hop. Bitterness and grain rush with this flavours to the finish yet the malt character tries to salvage the rest by throwing in a straight up sweetness that suggests honey and apple peel. Hops are herbal to the point of medicinal with a ghost like skunkiness. Grainy finish with some sweetness and a grassy flavour that lingers just about forever.

Notes: Tastes like a beefy Heineken, not as skunky and with more flavour to throw around. Still not a beer that would be in the same class as many German and Czech pilsners.

500ml bottle - nice to see the brewed on, and best before date right there on the back label - right at the midpoint - time to start drinkin'!

This beer pours a slightly hazy pale straw colour, with three fingers of thin foamy white head, which leaves some random latticed lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of strong cereal grain - corn, mostly - almost bread-like, some mild plain honey, and musty hops. The taste is more reserved cereal grain, mild dark honey sweetness, and mildly skunky, weedy hops. The carbonation is below average, the body medium weight, mostly smooth, and dotted by a bit of prickliness. It finishes quite off-dry, the persistent cereal malt still well in play, barely countered by the underwhelming, and underrepresented hops.

Nothing overtly offensive, as is otherwise a bit too common for this style - the general flying under the radar is an asset in this case. Drinkable with fish and chips, I can tell ya...

Glad to see others found this "skunked," as I did while tailgating for U2 May 18th outside Continental...annoying over-lagerish bottom, tinny odor and metallic aftertaste did not endear this Ukrainian brew... thank God for "Love and Peace"...Wal-Mart’s Green Lightning in alcoholic form....

Clear, bright golden body topped by a bright white head that drops to a very thin surface lace and minor collar. The aroma is quite limited but offers some light malt and spicy hops, as well as some light sulfur (which seems to be characteristic of the brewery). The body is medium with a very fine, median carbonation that's crisp in the mouth. The flavor is a gently fruity, well-fused malt & hop. The maltiness has an odd, almost musty, bready note that's fortunately overshadowed by a spicy, but indistinct, hop flavor. The finish is dry, and lightly sticky with malt & bitterness. Lightly astringent.

Pours light golden & effervescent, with a 4 fingers+ white head. Okay lacing & head retention

S: Huge corny & sweet nose

T: Candy corn sweetness up front, then dryness. Iron & cloying sweetness follow. Finishes sweet, grainy, some apple notes & cloying, pretty bad.

MF: Light bodied & outta whack balance-wise. Adequate carbonation

Hard to choke down, especially as it warms. Wasn't bad enough to pour down the drain, but almost..

Very carbonated, a light and bubbly beer. The head fluffs up and then dies down, a shame. The color is a golden white, a bit of a haze.

The smell is of wet straw, like an old barn. Some malt sweetness follows with a little bit of smoke. At the very end a hop stalk smell comes through. Pleasant.

Tastes like a pale lager, what it should be. On the sweet side with a lot of malt flavor, not so much of a hop presence, but enough to keep the malt from overpowering. A hint of maple syrup, very minor.

This beer goes down easily even with a lot of body. A lot of flavor and being sweet but not sickly sticky sweet. The hops keeps this the malt sweetness back but lets the flavor come through

Thanks to woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 16.9 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is very sweet, some honey and malts. Taste is also a bit sweet, crisp, malts, a slight bitterness at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and is very drinkable. Overall a very enjoyable beer.

From the 500 ml. green bottle with no date or lot number available. Sampled on March 19, 2009.

The pour is pale yellow with active carbonation, a fizzy but creamy looking white head, and adequate lacing. The aroma has some malt elements and luckily I do not notice any green bottle light-filtering interference. The mouthfeel is medium but has good stability. There are malts in the flavor along with something fruit-like and weak hops. Better than I expected after reading the previous reviews.

A: Packaged in green bottle, bright golden yellow color with a thin white head and lots of bubbly carbonation.

S: Skunky aroma upon opening.sour wet grains

T: Very sweet buttery corn flavor. Flavor is sweet upfront and abrupt, but ends just as quickly with some malt sourness.

M: Thin mouthful with some warm vegetable aftertaste. Very watery body.

D: bland

Pours a very pale yellow with a big frothy head after a vigorous pour.

Aroma is sharp, yeasty, grainy, some fruitiness (citrus?), and an off-bitter metallic (and sulpher?) note.

Flavor isn't as sharp and off as the aroma- perhaps because it is still fairly cold. Seems fairly well balanced, mostly malty, with a slight hop finish, actually not bad overall. After the swallow goes down, a slight metallic aftertaste remains, and (sorry to say this) I burped up some sulphur taste.

Mouthfeel and drinkability is probably the best part of this beer. The beer sits nice and full in the mouth, and this could be a nice yard or session beer.

Serving Type: 1pt .9fl oz

Appearance: Pours a bright gold colour w/ no head.

Smell: Grainy hops, malt and a touch sweet

Taste/mouthfeel: a little bit of the malt comes through a little sweet and ends a bit grainy. Almost a touch skunky at the end...odd metallic taste at the end. Leaves a grainy feel in the mouth....but it is a touch smooth

Drinkability:this is like a little bit stonger of a Heineken...and not any better than that or other more generic beers. Pass this up if you get the chance...

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter-finger high white head that died down but never completely faded away, leaving a large patch of bubbles around the center of the glass and a thick ring of bubbles around the edge.
S: There are aromas of bready malts in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of adjunct and bready malts along with notes of malty sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is rather easy to drink and isn’t that bad compared to other beers in the style.

Came in an emerald green 500 ml bottle. Poured out a bright clear golden colour, nice head that recedes to a thin cap. Aroma is sweet, grain and corn, a touch herbal. Flavour is very sweet, totally reminds me of corn. Not corn adjuncts or corn syrup, but sweet ripe corn! Very crisp and dry, mild metallic flavour on aftertaste. An okay lager, but I find the aftertaste dries me up more than it refreshes. Either way, an interesting offering from the Breadbasket of Europe, yet I don't think I'd reach for another one so soon (water, I need water, I'm parched after this bottle!).

The upon its extraction from the green 500ml bottle resides in the glass a crystal clear light gold, the head generous in size, the color a brilliant white with the texture semi-creamy, as it evaporates, the resultant lace a thin white curtain to drape the glass. Nose is the prototypical lager, somewhat sweet, crisp and fresh, start is somewhat sweet, the grain profile light as is the top. Finish is the light to moderate in acidity, the hops mild but present, quite dry and to me a drinkable beer, but rather light for me.

Pours from a large green bottle. Light straw color with good carbonation. Keeps a nice white head.

Grains and doughy smell. Some hop aroma too.

Light and bitter taste with some sweeter malts. Notice more of the grains and malts as I drink more.

Smooth and refreshing. The brew goes right over my tongue leaving little behind.

Great beer for a cool night or a hot day. Good session beer - glad I experimented with this.

Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a thin white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains light malts, adjuncts, honey and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with a light malt character and honey followed by bready flavors of grain and adjuncts. The hops presence is very mild but there's a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

D: A little flavorful considering the style, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, it's just average beer without much to it, but that alone makes it worth pounding for a while if you want an inexpensive option.

Poured a hazy yellow with a highly carbonated head that quickly fizzled down to barely a few bubbles.
The smell was grassy and "skunk" like. It reminded me more of a euro pils than a euro lager.
The taste had a raw yeast flavor and seemingly overboiled hops. It began pretty sweet and became more bitter as the drink progressed, to a sweet ending again. It had hints of a watery slightly metallic-like taste throughout. The only saving part was an underlying fruity - apple-like taste in the background.
The mouthfeel was thin - a slight creaminess that quickly disappeared. A dry feeling was left in the mouth.
One was enough for me. It was a below-average Euro-lager. The only possible refreshing part was the high carbonation and some slight apple-like hints. While I've had worse, this one didn't do it for me.
