Poured from a 500ml (1.09 pint fl oz) bottle into a tulip glass.

Nice-looking bottle - Has a nose of a Heineken (only with more herbal, like freshly-cut grass); A taste like a Grolsch (but hoppier). Colour is a slightly dark golden and cloudy. Head is decent: small-medium size bubbles that don't stick around very long in the glass (unfortunately). A tad bitter on the finish, could be crispier, but I wouldn't call it flat either; And I could do without the off-putting bathwater aftertaste. Overall, it's not that bad a brew: As long as it's served cold, it's a doable lager from the Ukraine.

Straw color with faint haziness. The head collected decently, but deflation is inevitably swift.

Strong Euro malt nose with hay and grassy must, sweet grain, faint herbal notes, and a kiss of skunkiness.

A tad drier than the nose set me up for. Pilsner malt base with some yeasty flavors. Missing crispness. Pale steeped grain, herbal flavors in the outreaches of hop notes, and tentative bitterness. A little off-balanced.

Somewhat difficulty flat. The body is just there. Not enough bubbles to elevate the beer's potential.

Not great. A passable Euro lager.

From 10/01/13 notes. Had this on tap at Krystalbellini in NYC, a Korean BBQ joint. 16 oz. draft poured into a stange.

a - Pours a murky bright yellow color with one finger of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of corn, wheat, grains, bready malts, and light fruit. Nose is ok, though the sweet corn taste is a bit offputting.

t - Tastes of sweet corn, lightly skunked, wheat, grains, dough, and biscuit malts. No fruit here. Big step down from the nose, more sweet corn.

m - Medium body and moderate to high carbonation.

o - Overall a subpar beer. Some sweet corn throughout; was tough to get through a pull pint of it. Wouldn't have it again.

Pint sized bottle. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a bubbly head. Smells of skunky euro hops, cereal grain and kilned malts. In the taste, light pale euro malts and good spicy hop. Well integrated bitterness and sweet grains. Has just a bit of toast and nuttiness. Cracker like yeast profile, everything in the flavor is nice and clean. I'd look for this again if I was in the mood for a decent euro pilsner. This would be a fine compliment to a Reuben sandwich and fries.

My homeland's flagship beer which I've had a hundred times back home. I'm drinking a bottle I bought here in Edmonton, but surprisingly the label is in Russian, suggesting the beer was brewed for domestic consumption? I'm not sure...

Well it pours a copper colour almost, maybe just slightly lighter. It pours with one finger of head that certainly smells like a bit of skunk, but it also has a cold and grainy scent, it's refreshing but also warming simultaneously. The taste is a wee bit too bitter for my taste and there is a shit ton of carbonation. Again, way too much. The sweetness provides a nice balance while not being entirely dominant when I have a sip. The aftertaste is not bad, but I have a strange sort of taste on my tongue - I can't really explain it.

Overall it's your typical Euro Lager. As for Obolon, give me Obolon Svitle ten times out of ten, which I just love. This one ranks a lot lower.
