tap

Pours opaque black with a brown tint around the edges, light tan film for a head.

Smells of cocoa, bretty yeast, and some light grassy malts mixed with a hint of roasted malt.

Lightly roasted coffee flavor with some light grape tartness and a mild biscuit base.

Medium body with a tingle of carbonation on the tongue.

A decent but weird ale, the sour stout approach doesn't quite work for me, but it's by no means bad. Just odd. Worth trying I suppose. Glad I had it, but won't seek it out again probably.

Serving type: on-tap

64 oz. growler poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Black with a very small off white head. Very transparent at the edges. No head after a minute. Looks flat.

Smell - Bretty with some dark fruit acidity. Chocolate and earthy notes.

Taste - Brett up front. Grainy. Bitter. Dark roasted malt. Ashy. A little tangy from the brett. Fruity notes blend well.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Low carbonation. Slightly tangy.

Overall - Tasty. Enough brett to accentuate the fruity flavors and sourness.

Serving type: growler
