Notes/Commercial Description:
"Bush Prestige starts out as Bush Ambrée, which instead of being stored as traditionally in stainless steel vats is matured in oak barrels for a period of six months.

During bottling, a small quantity of sugar and yeast is added to the beer, which, placed in a hot room, causes refermentation in the bottle that gives it a natural cloudiness and a particularly high alcohol content of 13%."

Very good beer, but i am hesitant to spend the money on this bottle without first aging one for a few years. ridiculously expensive, more than it should be. I actually prefer the scaldis noel and its half the price. But dont let the price take away from the brew. It is probably the most drinkable 13% abv beer you will find. almost no alcohol on the finish, a great belgian strong with light and dark fruit flavors as well as oak scents. pours slightly hazy but quite clear with a large head ( relatively speaking). smell reaks of scaldis! suprisingly fuzzy mouthfeel. great warming effect. wait for this one to kick in before popping another because it will hit you later than you think. great brew, a bit overpriced but still way less than that coach purse your girl wants for christmas! ask for it.

Pours a thin white layer, that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is candy sugar, Belgian yeast and hints of alcohol, flavor is smooth, sweet, fruity & hints of caramel. Nice clean finish. The 13% ABV is not really noticeable but savor this beer, it ain't cheap. Caged & corked 750ml bottle. Bottled in 2013.

I've been enchanted by the Prestige. Poured at a good temperature with a huge, cream-colored, foamy, billowy head that settle after a bit to a light cover and good lacing. Color is a clear medium amber with some bubble trails. Aroma is malt, yeast, candy sugar, caramel, spice, fruit, hint of oak. Flavor's like nose, but much more pronounced. Starts out sweet turning to bittersweet with tang to balance; oak comes out much more while teats becomes muted. It wouldn't be hard to rhapsodize about the intriguing minutiae of flavor nuances, but I'll leave that to you n yer beer chums. Body/carbonation are spot on. Finish is clean, rather short, and easy despite its power. They nailed it with this one.

Pours golden to coppery, opaque. Foam build up fast, not a lot though. Decent lacing.
Smells of ripe fruit, peach, honey, flowers and raisin, and there's a also a light sourness.
From the first sip my mind goes straight to sherry/brandy. Big complex fruitiness, with lots of sour and sweet cherries, red forest berries, with green apple like acidity, mild citrus (tangerines, blood oranges), white grape and sweet yellow pear. The Bush brews are usually exaggerated in their sweetness, but i found this one surprisingly balanced.
The malts are grainy in the back, and with lots of caramel up front, but again, not exceedingly sweet. Nice hints of vanilla, honey and some floral notes. The hops are green and herbal in the finish, providing a mild bitterness, just enough.
But it's not the bitterness lingering in the aftertaste, but the booze. This is the only problem with this one, the booziness is a bit too much, hard to be hidden with the given acidity and quite a fizzy carbonation. Still, the alcohol doesn't feel medical, but nice, warm and noble like in a good whisky, given the big barrely notes, with oak, dry wood and a light peat smokiness.
Even considering this one a sipper, the alcohol still seems a bit "not in its place", so i can't consider this one an imaculate 5. Still, beautiful.

This a "Ale aged in oak barrel".
Has a brilliant color, with tint of ruby amber but more of a gold color to the appearance.
H: two and half fingers, medium lasting. I think it does have a nice pillowey head for little bit.
A: smell the oak cask with hint of nice earthy tones.
F: richness in mouth fell, with a nice overtone balance.
