330ml bottle poured into La Chouffe tulip.

A: Pale amber, slightly hazy, large thick head which hung around for some time, moderate amount of lacing.

S: Yeasty phenols, some hints of fruity booze.

T: Lots of yeast and phenols, nowhere near as starchy as other strong Belgian pale ales, actually quite sweet, hid the high abv very well.

M: Fairly light body, crisp texture, very slight boozy burn at the finish.

O: Not the most complex beer Belgium has to offer, but a nice easy drinker. It could get someone into trouble as it hides a very high alcohol content well

Pours a hazy golden color with a medium top of white head that dissolves quickly.
Aroma is of ripe bananas, citrus, caramel, vanilla , honey and flowers.
The taste is sweet and fruity at the start with notes of overripe fruits and some caramel notes in the back.
It then turn more dry with strong notes of spices, before it finishes slightly bitter with some floral hop notes.
Aftertaste has decent lenght.
Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth with a medium carbonation and a medium body with a warming feel.
A very good example of it,s style.
Certainly worth a try.

One of my favourites Bush Blonde on sale in local supermarket for £2 per bottle, so snapped up a crate!

The beer looks a silky smooth hazy amber body, topped with a small foamy head, which does dissipate rapidly to leave a light coating.

This brew does have a very inviting aroma, a good mix of both fresh and malty fruits, think of a sweet fig.

Taste is great, you get that mixed flavour, and a very lingering hit of an aftertaste due to the gutsy 10.5% abv.

The feel is a touch on the effervescent side, but the balance allows for it.

This beer works, and has to be ranked highly. Not many 10.5% abv brews have you reaching for another....and another....and another!

A bush in the mush is worth 3 in the hand.

High Aroma of esters (peaches, pears & oranges) , some phenols perfumy notes.

High malt sweetness is cloying a mouth.
Low bitterness not enough to balance sweetness, moderate spicy peppery, alcohol

Review: 33cl bottle of Bush Blonde: ABV: 10.5%

The Bush Blonde, on the go since 1988, and introduced by Hugues Dubuisson on the 65th anniversary of the Bush Ambrée launched by his grandfather, Alfred. Considered to be one of the strongest beers from Belgium coming in at an alcoholic volume of 10.5%

A lot, and I mean a lot, of gas on the pour, a bit of a mess truth been told. Full of carbonation, resulting in a massive head and a beer that took a long time to settle.

It also was very murky looking, a lot of sediment in the bottom of the glass floating around, which looked a bit worrying and not at all appetizing.

Head does die eventually to leave a small but decent looking head that maintains, and an orange looking beer. Minimal lacing.

Overall, it looks terrible! One of the worst I have seen.

On the nose get a strong citrus and fruity smell.

Taste: initial taste, it was fucking horrible, a harsh alcohol taste, but once it settles down and I settled down myself from the shock, it is actually not too bad. Smooth enough for a 10% beer
Can feel the alcohol alright but quaffable enough and not overpowering, not hoppy

Smooth enough, all things considering (all the carbonation)
Not hoppy. No bitter tastes. Yeah not bad
A lot of sweet malts, some sweet fruits, and yeast.

Overall this beer tastes a million times better than it looks, and after you get over the initial hit of all the strong smells and taste, it eventually is a beer to savour.
