500ml swingtop bottle acquired at the Weyermann pilot brewery "fan shop" after an English language tour of their malt roast production process. Cost was 2.50 Euro plus 2.50 pfand (deposit), which is rather steep by Bamberg standards. Served into a .3l halleroder bierkrug at me friend's gaff in Bamberg. Reviewed live.

A: Pours a four finger had of nice cream, decent thickness, and good retention. Semitransparent textbook copper colour. Appealing.

Sm: Well handled caramelized malt (come on, it's Weyermann!), fresh barley, and hops, though me broken nose is unable to discern exactly their type; all apologies. A mild strength scent.

T: A bit watery - but just a bit. Caramelized malt comprises the majority of the foundation of the body, and the climax features pleasant hops that inject a good deal of the flavour payoff. Balanced but simple. Built pretty standard for the style.

Mf: Smooth, wet and refreshing. A bit buttery particularly on the finish. Even biscuity on the climax, but a bit too thin to maintain this feature throughout. More thickness would be quite welcome. I bet they could even get away with a higher ABV if it were made more thick and full. As is, its full potential is unrealized.

Dr: A good, refreshing, easily drinkable beer that would be best served at a festival in large quantities. Simple but not restrained, though priced pretty steeply by Bamberg (and German) standards. Standard ABV. (1,431 characters)
