A truly full-bodied beer. Rich, dark, malty and very complex. Belgian Abbey yeast, dark candi sugar and a huge assortment of specialty malts provide layers of complex aromas and flavors.

Appearance: Pours an opaque brown body with a fizzy, medium-sized off-white head.
Smell: An aroma that's mostly chocolatey and fruity, but also having hints of spice, candi sugar, and a whisper of yeast.
Taste: Quite sweet with tart, fruity flavors of bananas, cherries, and plums. Hints of chocolate, ground spices, and dark candi sugar. Slight yeastiness. Light floral hop taste, but no real bitterness. Warming, candied finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Some creaminess to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A decent, Belgian-minded beer from Iron Hill.

Brown pour, kinda lacks any action, looks flat. Aroma was some belgian sugar and fruit of the darker variety.
There's some roasted malt, plenty of raisin and prune bitterness, warming alcohol throughout. Needs more toffee and caramel for balancing. Seems unnecessarily fancy in its malt selection. Muddled dark fruit bitterness and not enough brown sugar, yields a metallic dirty bitter bite for the malt bill, not omniprescient, but enough.

On draft at IH Lancaster.
Pours a dark ruby brown with trace amounts of a an off white head, no lace or retention. Strong (boozy) aroma of smoked malt, candi sugar, Belgian yeast and dark fruit. The dark fruit (raisin, plum and grape) lead the flavor with a sneaky cocoa and smoked malt presence in the background. Slightly spicy as well, an overall bludgeoning of flavor with a pleasant amount of heat. Robust and viscous body, low carbonation. This keg was aging nicely and would love to have a sample in this condition again.

A corked and caged bottle, purchased at IH Lancaster.
A: The dark ale is a deep brown, verging on a ruby red. A thin wispy white band is about all that there is to say about that.
S: Chocolate, raisins, brown sugar, dark candi sugars. You name it, this ale brings it. Dark aromas, sweet yeast and plenty of strength lounging about. Cinnamon gradually emerges, a spicy counterpoint.
T: Dark fruits, raisins and grapes, lead the way. Their flavor is augmented by candi sugars and virulent Belgian yeast. Deep caramel malts and toffee have a pleasant sweetnes and are more than able to carry the rest of the ale's body. Spices, cinnamon and brown sugar, provide a deep, warming body. The wall of flavor leads to a dry finish, truth be told I wasn't expecting that one. Grapes and brown sugar drive the finish. Bold and big but delicious.
M: Belgium comes to Wilmington, a bold quad-like ale that brings plenty of spices and fruit to the party. A good choice for a chilly day.

Brown color, obvious deep roasting of malt. No head. Aroma revealed as much, didn't reveal much in the way of typical Belgian yeast or esters.
Taste, more roast, good alcohol punch, advertised as a quad, didn't really feel like it. Caramel, toffee, prunes, raisins went into this, thankfully not prune or raisin dominated. Leans more roasty than sugary for sure. Not bad for bsda, a style I'm not to into, seemed to be similar, but also owed some thanks to the porter style as well, something that frankly probably made me like this more than pure belgo aficianados would.
Thanks to jh1982 for bringing this to the football tailgate.
