Served at North Wales location on loan.

Poured a cloudy red and orange with some brown hues. Thin pinkish white head had not much retention or lacing. Smells of sour barnyard funk and raspberry jam. Tastes of tart raspberries with a touch of sour barnyard and some brown sugar. Medium in body with low carbonation. Tart with nice sour notes. Easy to drink, a nice dessert beer.

I believe this was a pour from a bottle at the Iron Hill Belgium Comes to West Chester event. Hard to be sure given the pour methods.

Pours a super muddy brownish color with some red highlights. Both the sample glass and full tulip were like this, so I don't think it was a bottom of the bottle dregs issue. No real head or lacing. Quite ugly.

The nose carries a good dose of raspberries as well as underlying earth. Moderate acidity. Flavor has moderate raspberry character. No underlying funk or anything other than acidity. Touch of breadiness. Body is medium and overall too heavy and chewy. Acidity is fairly strong.

I'm not sure what happened to the appearance or feel on this one, but it was quite odd. Otherwise, raspberry was nice but there wasn't any real depth to the beer.

From 1/07/12 notes. Thanks to ygtbsm94 for sharing this one at a local RB tasting. I believe this was on '08 vintage.

a - Pours a murky reddish-purple color with a few white bubbles and low carbonation evident. Looks a bit flat.

s - Smells insanely sour. Smells of vinegar, tart raspberries, oak, tannic, sour dark fruits. Bit too overboard on the vinegar for me.

t - Tate is even rougher than the nose. Smells of vinegar, sour raspberries and dark fruits, tannic notes, oak, light fruit. Burns a bit going down.

m - Medium body and no carbonation, and burns like acid going down. pretty rough and tough to drink a few oz's of.

o - Overall not a very good beer. It was flat and burned going down, and was basically vinegar with raspberries added. Wouldn't seek it out again.

October 6, 2011.

Pours a murky auburn-bordering-on-burgandy with just the faintest wisps of head. Almost flat; still; and the last ounce or two consists of light floaties.

Raspberry on the nose, though the acetobacter combines with the fruit to produce a fairly acidic and medicinal aroma. Light battery acid acidity.

Watered-down raspberries, whispers of highly-acidic funk base, and that tingly, medical and vinegary finishing bite. I don't have a lot of words for this one, but it doesn't do it for me. Watered down, flat, and bitingly acidic.

See above. Flat, without the bright, fruity off-setting notes found in something like Hanssens.

Heavy on the acetobacter. Really, really bad. The existence of this beer is one of the reasons that wild ales have inflated scores on this site - if you want proof that subpar examples exist, look no further.

Big thanks to FooFaa aka Dan for bringing this one to our IPA day celebration. It isn't an IPA but I didn't hear anyone complaining.

A - Pours fairly still with a small film of white head leaving little to no lace at all down the glass.

S - Smells of sweet raspberry puree, lots of vinegar, light sourness, dry oak tannins, and some wet leather.

T - Starts off with some sweet raspberries quickly giving way to a mix of strong vinegar sourness, wet leather, and dry oak tannins. It almost tastes like the flavors never really came together. The finish is a mix of light sweetness and strong tartness, lingering for some time.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderately low carbonation. Pretty sure this one is flat with a sweet, tart, feel none the less.

O - This one was ok. It smelled pretty good but the taste was a bit of a letdown. I still want to try the other verities of this one, I just hop they are a little better.

bottle from awesome girlfriend from the DE location... last bottle this season... she tried to buy 2.
pours a dark cranberry color... darker than expected. Head is about a half inch, then is gone in a matter of seconds. the nose is sour cherries, full, abrupt, and in your face.
taste is much the same, a lot of sour cherry, but also a lingering sweetness on the finish. This is sublime. one of the best sours I have had.
if you like really sour.. this is good, if you like subtle sourness, this is not for you.

Appearance: Nearly flat; raspberry royal purple red pour with lots of floaters

Smell: Quite sour with lots of sweet raspberries, also some leather and mustiness

Taste: Very sour, almost burning, with a nice raspberry backbone. A bit vinegary; perhaps some oak notes in the background.

Mouthfeel: Basically flat, this really dings the beer.

Drinkability: Incredibly sour and flat, best shared with others. If it was slightly less sour and had at least some carbonation it would be a solid A-.

Still burgundy color, looks like it would hurt you. Cringing vinegar and acid aroma. It feels like pins are attacking the inside of my nostrils. There is some raspberry scent but it's over powered by malt vinegar. Taste is like Hanssens Experimental Raspberry but undrinkable. It hurts my stomach and burns all the way down. It's basically raspberry flavored battery acid. Absolutely disgusting with an out of control acetobacter problem.

Thanks to jkwalking05 for sharing this beer.

Pours murky brown with a white head. The aroma is tart, with some funk and raspberry. It smells about like powdered kool-aid. The flavor is very nice, with tart raspberries and lemons. A very nice American made fruit lambic. Thin mouthfeel and low carbonation.

Got this one a while back from boatshoes... Thanks Fletcher!! Awesome Trade!!! Reviewed from notes. Shared with inflatablechair.

Brew is reddish orange.. more red... not alot of head and no real lacing.. no surprise.

Nose is surprisingly funky.. musky... lactic... sour raspberry essence.. no sweetness to speak of.

flavor has alot more raspberry... still very funky and sour.. more lactic but a bit of acetic characteristics still show.. pretty tannic and a bunch of wood... lite carbonation.. could use more bubbles.

This was really very nice.... surprisingly nice.... I have a 750 from the Delaware location and will be enjoying that with it's sour brothers sometime in the future with the Boise Boys.

Thanks again Fletcher... Awesome trade and we should do it again.

A: Pours ruby red with just a handful of bubbles.

S: Ripe raspberry tart and a little funk.

T: Sharp and the front and a bite at the end with lovely raspberries between.

M: Mouth feel is slippery/smooth and fairly thin.

D: Only a 375 ml bottle and it went down smoothly, but I'd likely have only one per night.
